I'm looking into Aruba for our HM. Does anyone have suggestions on where to stay in the 'not so busy and crowded' area?

Re: Where to stay in Aruba??
we stayed at the Hyatt and it was INCREDIBLE!!! We went to the Riu to check out their casino and it was too big for us. Also we heard the food and service weren't that great. But the Hyatt is not all-inclusive, so you end up spending more money. We might go back for our anniversary and we will definitely stay at the Hyatt.

Re: Where to stay in Aruba??
I got engaged in Aruba.. We stayed at the Ocean Suites Section at Renaissance Aruba Resort & Casino in Oranjestad, Aruba. The Renaissance has two hotels in that area -- Ocean suites and the regular resort & casino. The ocean suites was more secluded and had a small beach but had more families. The resort & casino is more for adults but is across from the water and does not have a beach section. The benefit of staying at either of the Renaissance resorts is you get to go to their private island which is beautiful and so much fun! It's also in the downtown part of aruba, so there are a bunch of shops to walk around at and it's less crowded in that area.
The Hyatt is also gorgegous! We said that if we could go back there, we would definitely want to stay there for a few days. It's in a great location too and the beach there is so nice!
Hope that helps! Good luck!

Re: Where to stay in Aruba??
I like staying in the Palm Beach section. That's where the hi rise hotels are, about a 10 minute cab ride from Oranjestaad. Hyatt, Radisson and Marriotts are very nice. Occidental was just redone, part of it is time share. Not necessary to do all inclusive - there are so many great restaurants to eat at, in town, in the hotels. We did AI the first time and it was a waste.

I've been looking into Aruba as well. I have heard from many people that it's better not to do AI there because there are so many great restaurants! Some people have recommended The Flying Fishbone, where you can dine right on the beach. I've also heard of a lot of honeymooners staying at the Divi Resorts.

We're staying at the Hyatt. We originally wanted to do all-inclusive, but a lot of people here said not to because there are a lot of great restaurants on the island.

We're going for our HM too. Not sure where we will be staying yet...but my parents just went and said the Marriot is beautiful..lazy river pool and big casino..all that..but it's at the end of Palm beach, so it's not so crowded...that might be a good option.

We stayed at the Occidental and loved it, we upgraded to the Royal Club, it was amazing. It is expensive to eat out, and yes there are a lot of amazing resteraunts, but DH and I only ventured out 2ce. The resort had everything so we didn't need to leave! I hear lots of good things about the Hyatt too.

Re: Where to stay in Aruba??
we receent;y stayed at the divi all inclusive, its on a very private beach, nice and quiet, its a big stretch of sand...as opposed to where the high rise hotels are its very crowded and hardly and room to lay on the beach. I def recommend booking a hotel anywhere on Eagle Beach !

Re: Where to stay in Aruba??
A place to stay that is nice is the Divi Phoenix. It is a timeshare but they also rent the time as well. It is nice because it is on Palm Beach but is still very quiet. All rooms have a kitchen in case you want to cook. I have been to Aruba 5 times, it is definitely my favorite place to go.

Divi Divi and Divi Tamarjin were all inclusive...and very reasonably price. Not a high rise hotel. Divi Tamarjin have all ocean front rooms, no higher than 3 floors and Divi Divi were all one level of rooms only.
