We've never been to Vegas before so I'd like to take FH there after tax season. He'll be working like a dog til April 15th and I want to show him a GREAT time. Which hotel/casino do you recommend us staying in??? TIA!!!
ETA:
Is end of April/beginning of May a good time to go?
How many nights should we stay? (How much time do we need to enjoy it just enough where we'll leave wanting more, but not much more?)
Thanks!!

Re: where to stay in Vegas?
I've stayed at the following:
Rio- Most reasonable prices of the places I stayed Palms The Hotel at Mandalay Bay - Expensive Bellagio - Expensive
They are all beautiful but the two I like the most were The Hotel and Bellagio. Everytime I've gone has been more fun than the last.

Last time we went we stayed at New York, New York. It was a fun place to stay. Nine Fine Irishmen was a great bar inside, also Cayote Ugly is inside there, lots of fun, waitresses dance on the bar. Its very reasonable, and the rooms were very nice.
The Wynn is amazing, but the most expensive.

The weather will be perfect than.
I stayed once for 7 days and that was just TOOO long. I would say 4-5 days would be perfect.

the only two i have stayed at were
Caesars Palace...loved it, the pools are great and the flamingo..also loved it, had no problems at all and its cheaper then Caesar's
but i also like...Excalibur, also on the cheaper side....Bally's, Rio and the Palms, but those last two are off the strip

I think 4-5 days is good...i went two years ago in April i think 16th...around that time and it was COLDDDD especially at night, i was freezing when i got off the airplane. i couldnt beleive how cold it was....we stayed 6 days and only 3 days out of those 6 we went to the pool. all the other days it was really very windy. i think May or June would be better...ive also been in July/August/September and all the days there were over 100 degrees and disguting hot lol

Re: where to stay in Vegas?
I went twice... first when I was 17 with family and we stayed at the Luxor. No complaints (except for the fact that I couldn't gamble!) It was August and disgustingly HOT.
Second, I went for my 21st birthday and stayed at the Venetian which was GORGEOUS!! It was the end of March and in the low 80's so it was warm enough to go in the pool and walk around the strip without melting!
I only went to the Rio to gamble/have dinner. But I did win $650 there the day after my 21st!

Re: where to stay in Vegas?
I'm going for my birthday, from Saturday 3/22 until that Tuesday. I only went once for work but FH says that should be plenty of time. We're staying at Planet Hollywood which is apparently right in the middle of the strip and had all these grand opening specials - so we got a really good deal.

Re: where to stay in Vegas?
ive stayed at planet hollywood and the flamingo hilton. both are in a great location, PH is new and has a great casino and is right across from the bellagio. not as fancy a pool but not crowded pool area which was nice.
flamingo has an awesome pool with a slide but its always so crowded its hard to enjoy.
i also love the paris and the venetian.
if you've never been, try to stay toward the center of the strip so you'll be able to see everything without a really really long walk or a cab.
also, circus circus is overrun with kids and at the far far end. you dont really need to visit that or the stratosphere
fh also liked the signature towers at mgm i think it was

Re: where to stay in Vegas?
I've stayed at the Monte Carlo (which is out bc they just had a fire) and Bally's. I wasn't crazy about Bally's pool but since it's connected to Paris, I asked them if i could use their pool and we were able to. The Paris pool is much nicer. We went in June and we paid $69 a night for the rooms at Bally's, which were really nice, recently updated. When you go on Bally's website, make sure you click on the button that says 'show hot deals', it will be on the right hand side. You get the same rooms for about $20 less per night just for clicking on the button. Good Luck!

Re: where to stay in Vegas?
I think that 3-4 days is plenty of time for Vegas. it's a fun place but I think you will get bored or run out of $$$ if you say any longer
I stayed at the LV Hilton, and I have to say for it being my first time in Vegas I just wished we had stayed on the strip (hilton is kind of on the strip but far from the action so you have to take the monorail or taxi). So I would def take the suggestions and look into PH, bally's, venetian, MGM, etc...

Re: where to stay in Vegas?
I say the Mandalay Bay is the BEST. They have a wave pool , beach chairs and sand, so you think you are actually @ the beach. There is also a stage right next to the pool, so you can see and hear the performers while your sun bathing.

Re: where to stay in Vegas?
I stayed at the SAHARA.. it's sooo REASONABLE but it's toward the end of the strip.. but they have the monorail now.... so it's not a big deal (and SAHARA had one of the BEST POKER ROOMS... soo much fun) I also stayed at MGM Grand---AWESOME
April is a great time to go.. it's right before it gets toooooo hot that it's unbearable!
