I think its completely fine to stay at another hotel if you'd rather not have the responsibility of hanging out with everyone afterwards. The Harrison House is another beautiful place you can stay!

We are stying in the exact opposite direction of our guest (Holiday Inn in Hauppauge). We are stying at the Inn at Fox Hollow. It was thee best deal and nicest place for the money, partial discount due to Scotto Bros association.

OMG, I was just thinking about posting something on the same exact topic. I think it's perefectly fine for you to stay at a different hotel. Actually, alot of people tend to reccommend it because otherwise your guests may try to bother you. But if you want to keep the party going at the hotel, then you may want to stay at the same place.

The issue with me is that FH and I are getting married on a SUnday, but we are not leaving for our honeymoon until Tuesday. We really only need somewhere to sleep that SUnday night (our reception finishes at 1am so we're looking at checking in at 2am). I've called some hotels today and these are the prices they quoted:

Marriott Residence Inn in Plainview: $160 for a suite

Hilton Huntington: $179 includes champagne and breakfast

Huntington Country Inn: $139

Executive Inn at Woodbury: $95 King size bed, and $199 for suites

Best Western Woodbury Inn: $125

Sheraton 4 Points in Plainview: $189 for bridal suite with jacuzzi in room and standing shower. For an additional $50 you can add the romance package (champagne, box of chocolates, late checkout)

Does anyone know of any other places? I can't see myself paying almost $200 for a room that we will be in for about 7-10 hours.
