My ceremony and reception are both at the Snapper Inn, but we want to take pictures elsewhere (preferably by the water) beforehand...we don't mind seeing each other before the ceremony. Anyone have any ideas? The bayard Arboretum closes at 4, and we'd be taking pictures 5-6, so that's not an option for us unfortunately...any other ideas would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

i third it ....that's where i wanted to to our engagement photos (where we met) but its just so far away from me now :o(
Theres also the Bayard Arboretium right by Dowling- I think there may be a small site fee though

you can go to either of those 2 - they are nice, or of you want beachy pictures, you can head to sayville and go down to the docks/beach. there is a really small beach right by land's end... its on the bay, so there are no ocean waves or anything like that- but there is sand... def check it out before you choose to do it there though, it might not be what you are looking for. but Down West Avenue there are docks taht you might want to look into taking pictures at if you want the water scene with no beach. Thise docks were jstu redon I believe a few years ago so they shoudl be in nice shape.Good Luck! HTH Keep us posted on where you pick for pics!

St John's Oakdalte campus is about 2 seconds down the road from Dowling.
also right on the water.. bourne mansion is on the campus as well which has some really cool photo stops outside.
There is a beautiful arboredum (spelling) in oakdale. Its on montauk hwy a little west of dowling....across from the sports complex
I was JUST married at Snapper Inn on Saturday, and we went to Savyille Common Grounds on Gillette Avenue, it's a park with a gazebo and really pretty grounds, adn then we went to the end of that road to the Sayville Beach & Marina, it's on the corner of Gillette & Browns River Road.. If you want to see some of my pics, FM and I will send you the link, I just dont know how to upload on to here, lol.
