Where to tie ribbon on wedding programs?

Where to tie ribbon on wedding programs?

I am making my own square programs but am struggling with where to hole punch the sides for the ribbon.

Here are the three options I have - photos of sample programs (not mine).

First: holes from top to bottom
Second: holes right next to each other
Third: holes equal distance apart (in the middle)

Which looks best for SQUARE programs?

the last picture look goood to punch the hole for your programs

thanks... I'm thinking 2 or 3 but leaning towards #3
