university of richmond (where i went to undergrad) under the gazebo...it was perfect and so romantic!

it was our 5 year anniversary and he took me out to dinner-when we got back to our apartment he had a special bottle of wine breathing-he handed me my gift (which was in a larger box) and i said to myself-don't worry it will happen one day-and the little box came flying out and he proposed-it was perfect we were in our pajamas and then we were out of them later on!

Why the heck did I never respond to this? First of all, you all have such great stories!!!!!!!!!
September 25, a day after my bday. We are driving out to the Homestead, a resort in Virginia that we had been trying to go to for years and I'm thinking to myself (Oh, this might be it!) well, on the way out, FH says to me 'Don't go looking at anything in the car because I picked up some brochures of places I might like to take you for any special occasions that might be coming up!' (FH always said he wanted to take me away and propose on vacation) So, I start crying asked to go to a rest area and am sitting on the toilet realizing that the relationship isn't going anywhere, he will never be ready since we've been dating for 3 years and living together for 1.5 years, oh my gosh, I'm going to have to end things, how can I possibly? I mean the full gamet when seriously my mind cleared and said, but it was nice of him to do this great weekend for my bday so just enjoy it and think about 'relationship stuff' on sunday. So, we arrive and its beautiful. FH is sitting around checking the scores of his baseball teams![]()

which I was fine with. And then he says he needs to fill out my bday card. I couldn't believe it! 1 day after my bday and he didn't even fill it out! So, we're walking around the grounds and something starts tugging on my stomach like...i wonder. So we finally walk up to this pond where like 5 people are fishing and all of a sudden, they all just leave all at once. For no reason at all. Finally, I am so nervous I ask for my bday card so he told me to sit on the bench. I'm pretending to read the card when a brochure for dance lessons pops out (he said he always wanted to take dance lessons before the wedding) and I see him out of the corner of my eye inching towards the edge of the bench. Finally he's on one knee, with tears in his eyes, unable to get the words out, my hands are up at my mouth, I am shaking uncontrollably (and couldn't stop for hours) and he asked!!! It was amazing! (but i never forgave him for making me cry so hard in the rest area)

he proposed november 30 around 11:30 am. we were getting ready for work, and i knew he had purchased it a month early, and he walks out from the bedroom and says he cant wait until christmas, and then he asked me to marry him.

In Planting Fields Arboretum (we love it there) on Columbus Day. The date had no significance, and he very much surprised me with the proposal!

Smiths point park Feb 12,2005 it was sunset and i was wondering why were on the beach in the freezing cold!!!! he then pulled out 2 dozen long stem red roses ! it was so sweet!! He said he knew i would expect it on Valentines day so did it a few day before

In our bedroom after he was late coming home from work because he was out all day looking for my ring. He told me he was out entertaining clients. I thought he was cheating on me because it was like 7 years of dating and no ring.
It was Oct 21. He wanted to wait until Halloween and come to the door to trick or treat dressed as a knight ini shining armor, but he couldn't wait. The ring was in the house 10 minutes before he proposed.
I wouldn't say yes until after he called my parents to make sure it was ok. My dad said, what took you so long!!!![]()

Me too!!
Me Too! It was the only way to surprise me, he had everyone in on it, came in with my dog (ring around his neck) all sorts of gifts. He first had someone I didn't know come in, and set up music and everything, very funny, not a dry eye in the place!
