Where would you rather live (this just for debate purposes) Muttontown or Center Island?
My friend and I are having a debate (we are both super stubborn and will debate things until they are dead...and then we keep going with it...but it's all in good fun, we are giggling the whole time)
Anyway...which location do you think is 'better' (not the best word, but all I can think of now)... where would you rather live: Muttontown or CenterIsland:
I said Center Island because location, waterfront, etc. She said Muttontown...she claims it's waterfront...I said it's not, my DH said it's not (he lived not far from there), but maybe we are both totally wrong and there are parts on the water.
Either way, just to satisfy my curiosity...where would you rather live...money no object! Thanks!

I love Centre Island, but it's such a haul to get anywhere, especially if you commute or travel a lot.
Muttontown definitely isn't waterfront.
In the end, Centre Island gets my vote. I consider it to be much more exclusive.

My grandmother lives in Muttontown and they (the town) are not on the waterfront. Center Island is probably nicer but farther away.

They're both so beautiful areas....but my decision is made: Center Island for me in my next life: Heck, in my next life, why not throw in some royalty..ok...time for me to get my butt into bed.

centre island...while both are pretty nice, centre island is just a bit more...hmmm...extravegent. and who cares about the commute. if you live there, chances are you don't care about the commute b/c you don't need to. either you are driven or don't have to go to far or have a place in the city anyway. but it is like huntington harbor, lloyd neck...if you live way out in the boonies like that, the commute really doesn't effect you.

I've never even heard of it, so I guess that's pretty exclusive!

I don't even know where Muttontown is (although I've heard of it) and I went to a wedding at the Sewanaka Yacht Club in Centre Island in August so I guess I would choose that ...

I never heard of Centre Island either. Where is it? I know Muttontown is supposed to be a very nice and wealthy area though. I would move to the one that is the shortest train ride to NYC!

If money was no object I would choose Old Brookville. Maybe I can be JLo's and Marc Anthony's neighbor. My dad lived there until about 18 months ago when they decided to downsize and purchase waterfront. But I love it there.

Gosh, I never heard of Center Island either.
Muttontown is really nice but prefer the more secluded and wooded type residential communities...I really like Old Westbury and Port Washington.

I would choose Centre Island. It is soooo beautiful & exclusive. I love the waterfront homes there.

I was just looking through a book of North Shore homes last night....my vote goes with Center Island! Gorgeous houses!!

my husband has a cabinetry business and most of his work is in those two towns...along with ow and upper brookville....i just asked him and he said that muttontown or ANY OTHER TOWN (including the hamptons) does not hold a candle to center island....
i don't know, i live in yaphank...

Muttontown - Definitely not waterfront, but great schools (either Jericho or Syosset, both which are excellent). Centre Island, home to Billy Joel, is very exclusive. And waterfront. One way in, one way out. We have a friend of my dad's lives there and I love going to his house. Definitely Centre Island without a doubt!
