FH and I are planning to go on vacation in August with all our friends. We want to rent a house on or very close to the beach, but we want nightlife (bars, pubs, etc.) to be close by. Any ideas of places that might be good for this?
I thought of Daytona Beach but other than that, im out of ideas.

Re: Wheres the best place to vacation?
Outer Banks..NC is great for everything you want..and it is very cheap (compared to the Hamptons, anyway) to get a house right on the beach
Duck is a great spot for nightlife too!
The only thing is that it will prob be VERY hot in Aug.

how about the Jersey shore? I've heard Ocean City and Point Pleasant are nice....
I guess it all depends on what you want to spend and how far you want to go...
Myrtle Beach, SC is another good place...
