We are buying new appliances and I'm not sure what brand we should get. I'm thinking a great quality, but not along the lines of Viking/Bosch, that isn't our budget right now.

i design kitchens for a living and would have loved to have a sub zero or viking but that wasnt fuctional for our tiny levitt kitchen so we bought ge profile mostly and they are excellent

Have you looked at Consumer's reports? I think they had a whole issue on kitchen stuff not too long ago.

I have a Whirlpool dryer that has been nothing but a problem since day 1. Ive had 6 service calls on it. After A LOT of waiting for repair men to come they are finally replacing it for me. I know Whirlpool is a good brand but after this whole thing I dont think Ill be buying another Whirlpool product!

I guess it matters, because I have a Whirlpool washer and dryer and they both work great.
