quite frankly, whichever you want to happen first.

now, i'll tell you about what i've seen and done.
every wedding i've ever been to, except one, it's before.

what i wanted to say was: dancing with your father comes first... in my experience.

Most of the weddings ive been too- the father/daughter dance comes first...

I have seen the cake cutting first in 99% of the weddings I've attended. I must have attended at least 25 weddings!

Sometimes people opt for the parental dances after the first dance to get them out of the way as not to interrupt dancing later.

Good point. We had the option of doing the parent dances immediately after the first dance, or immediately after the cake cutting.

We opted for immediately after the cake cutting.

Same here most weddings we've been to the father/daughter dance comes first.

We cut the cake first, I wanted it the other way around and so did DH but, the band waited until the end.

I am pretty sure we had the cake cutting first and then the parent dances.
