Depends on the florist and who they get them from, and the season. If you've already booked your florist...if he says they're more expensive they will be for you, even if another florist could get them cheaper.

My girlfriend used to work in a flowershop, I just called her and she said that hydrangeas generally ran 12-25 a stem, callas 6-12 a stem, roses 3.50-6.00 a stem, snapdragons 4-6 a stem............
Hope that helps you out.

Re: Which cost's more?

I just got a quote yesterday from a florist for roses & hydrangeas and it was much less than I had expected (and my wedding is also in May). I would have assumed as well that callalilies were more expensive than hydrangeas.

some florists charge the same amount, no matter what the flower

Re: Which cost's more?

you are getting married the week before i am and my florist explained that hydrangea is not really in season that early in the spring. it is more of a late june to september flower, so yes they are going to be more expensive. maybe if you limit the amount of hydragea you use you can keep a cap on the price.
