I was thinking that I needed to buy my wedding dress first and then look for styles for BM that go with the style (somewhat) of my dress. Now I´m thinking maybe it doesn´t matter.
What are your opinion? Which dress did you guys get first?
Also, how far in advance did you get the dresses?

i dont think it matters. my dress is trumpet/mermaid, and i dont plan on putting my girls in that. i want to stand out!!

I want to get mine first. . . . . but I have not found it yet and I am going BM dress shopping at the end of the month - I am hoping that the BM dresses will help me pick out my dress!

I picked my gown first, but only because I knew most bridal gowns take longer to come in than BM dresses.

I got my gown first. My gown is a mermaid and I didn't want the girls to have the same silhouette, but I wanted them to somewhat coordinate with me (we're all wearing strapless gowns). But that's just me; it really doesn't matter!!

Bride comes first...lol... nah..it really doesn't matter. I knew which dress I wanted for the BMs, but not for me....I eventually found my dress, and we ordered them all within the same month.

I picked out my bridesmaids dresses first but I went and picked out mine before they got fitted.

You have a lot of time still for BM dresses. Focus on yourself first, then them. It only takes 3 months for BM dresses to come in, tops.

IMO bride comes first. You want the BM dresses to compliment your dress and make it stand out.
I think you need to see how dramatic your dress is and then have your BM dresses compliment that.
Like with me, my dress was simple, fitted, and very elegant. My BM dresses were simple, tri color tea length GORGEOUS dresses in earth tones, which was my color theme. If I would have done floor length dresses in black and white or black and hot pink like I wanted at one point it would have been TOO dramatic and TOO distracting from ME and MY DRESS....
THATS why I say do yours first =)) Cause a lot of times you end up in something you NEVER thought you would =)

I got my dress first only bc wedding dresses can take longer to come in than BM dresses.
It's cute if the BM and brides dresses match, but I don't think it's necessary.
