The price difference between the 2 is approximately $350 (with #2 being the more expensive one)...
I wanted to go with simple & elegant...
I would probably change the font color in #1 to black. #1's monogram is engraved while #2's is done in the thermography. I would also change the monogram style in #2 to make it plainer...
I have seen both in person and personally I like #2

I picked 1, i think it's more 'simple and elegant' since that was the look you were going for. they are both very nice.

I voted for 1 as well. I do enjoy an invitation with a fold (albeit the quality of the paper is nice, like most encore invites are?)....keeps all the extra info together. But you can't go wrong with either--great choices!

I voted #1 only because embossing (which is how the monogram is done) is just beautiful. And $350 is a LOT of money to save on invites that are gorgeous regardless...that could go toward a lot of other things (like beautiful hand calligraphy).

'GAUDY' was the word he used.... Not 'tacky'. (The invitations are neither -- he is just an A*SS). I told him I LOVE 'gaud' and he'd better get used to it! LOL
