Once we are all married. Do we put the engagement ring on first and the wedding ring on top or vice versa?

I think the wedding band is supposed to go closest to your heart, so the wedding band is on the inside, then the engagement ring.

I was told by two jewelry places that the wedding band goes on first so it is closest to your heart.

To my knowledge that is how it works, at least thats how I've seen woman wear them.

So wait when you put the rings on on your wedding day, does FH take off the e-ring, put the band on and then put the e-ring back on?

You could take it off or you could switch your e-ring to your right hand before you walk down the aisle. Whatever you prefer to do.

What all you girls are saying is how my entire family wears their wedding bands. FH tried to argue with me about the way I want to wear it - because his entire family wears it the opposite way!! Something about them wearing it in the order they got it....didn't make sense, so I looked it up...

Which Ring Goes On First?
Traditionally, the wedding band is worn closest to the heart. Because of this, most women slide their wedding band on first and then place the engagement ring on top of that. Many bridal sets and matched rings are soldered together, however, making this a moot point and entirely up to personal preference.
