I haven't sent out invites yet...but see from the yes/no post that a lot of people (15-20%) of those invited say no...

I don't want anyone to say no (I know they will though)...and am just curious as to why they say no.

I don't know why everyone said no but some of the reasons were prior committments, religious observance, they lived far away (time off of work/travel expense) and people we invited with a guest that didn't bring one.

Same thing family commitments, distance, working etc. Some do not say.

distance was a big thing...and also singles not bringing a guest...

We are inviting some people just as a courtesy even though we know they definitely will not attend b/c of distance, so even though there are 150 on our guest list, we probably wont get over 110

I have a couple of GFs in Texas with small children and limited $$. So I've gotten a few 'welllllllll.....see......um. we'll try....' I've already marked them off LOL.

most of my nos were long distance invites or singles that didn't bring a guest. I did get one no from a cousin who said she has to clean her house the day of my wedding for a bbq she's having 2 days later go figure lol.

We got a lot of no's from singles who didn't want to bring a guest. We also got no's from people who are out of state or out of the country. We also got some no's from people who were sick and couldn't make the trip.

We got no's for our e-party b/c of the day. It was Good Friday. We were way under the average percentage that responded no. It was about 4% when I calculated the final guest count. I won't go based on the 15-20% no responses system for the wedding. How can you really predict that that will really happen. Ya know?
