i have no idea about anything hawaii related. i've read the posts in the honeymoon thread, but can't really narrow it down.
what hotel should we stay in in maui? keep in mind, we are on a budget.

From what I read, the Sheraton has the best beach as is not as expensive as other hotels. Hope this helps!

we are staying at the sheraton on poipou beach...that is kaui ...we got an oceanfront but if u are trying to save $$ u can get a gardenview...u will be out and about most of the time...but i know the shearton is on an nice swimmable beach..i am sure u can get a deal if u take a different room

we're also staying at a sheraton, but i think it's on kaanapali (sp?) beach. supposed to be very nice, and was cheaper than the other hotels we were thinking about.

if you are really on a budget, don't spend the ridiculous $400 per night that everyone else spends 'just because it's your honeymoon'. we stayed in a B&B - had our own huge private bathroom and jacuzzi and porch. it was fabulous, they gave us use of coolers, beach chairs, beach umbrella, towels,snorkel gear for free and it was $129 per night. i cannot recommend this place enough. there are 4 rooms there and a nice, large deck with a pool (only 4 couples are using the pool, it's great). we found this place because of the great review it got in our Frommer's Travel Guide book for Maui and it was the best decision we made on our trip. i think the website it www.mauiguesthouse.com, but call for more info, the people are GREAT.

Hyatt Regency!! Just keep in mind you can stay on a budget in Hawaii, but it is not a cheap place. Food, drinks, excurisons are expensive. You might go over your inital budget. Try Expedia and look up all the hotels in Maui. Or go to a travel agent, and tell them your budget.
