I'm debating on what to throw at the ceremony: bubbles, rose petals (heart shaped), or both. If I did both, I would put petal cones on the aisle seats, and bubbles on the rest.

I think the roses make a nicer picture, JMO. They add color. And then you can have options ot take out the color and leave the petals in color, etc

I would go with the rose petals.. only I heard that the bubbles can stain dresses.. all you need is someone blowing the bubble directly at you and getting a stain on your dress you cant get out..

ALso I;ve found that 90% of the tiem those bubbles stink and I have such a ahrd time getting any bubbles!

But I have one question: how can people at the very far end throw rose petals? At least with bubbles they will carry. Do you generally have enough petal cones for everyone? Or just enough for people in the aisles?

Rose petals... b/c they will last for the pictures and it will look really pretty... the photographer can do some black and white photos w/ just the petals in color. Bubbles just pop and that's no fun.

I agree-bubbles are a cute idea but I see them just sinking and not doing what you expect

I agree (and if the guests LISTEN to the photographer of when to throw - most of my guests didn't )

I had rose petals and heart-shapped rice.
I was going to have the judge mention something at the beginning of the ceremony about when to throw the rose petals.

I was at a wedding where they did the bubbles, and I was literally running from them because they stained my dress so bad - it made me so upset...I think rose petals are so elegant:)

I didn't have any problems with the bubbles staining my dress or the bridesmaids' dresses.
Both are nice, I did bubbles, b/c the church didn't allow rose petals.

We're using bubbles if it's an outdoor ceremony. Otherwise, we're not using anything b/c the hall won't allow bubbles inside (I guess it might stain or ruin the carpet). The rose petals are really nice though and will probably come out well in pictures.
