I'm going to venture into the unknown this weekend and hit up Long Island to go dress shopping (I'm traveling from the Bronx!) Which Bridal Shops will I love? Which ones do I skip?
The types of dresses I'm interested in are strapless A-line, Princess, or Empire silhouettes. (No full skirts!)
I particularly like Maggie Sottero dresses, but I'm very open to other designers.
Any and all comments are appreciated!

If you like Maggie Sottero, Lillettes in Baldwin carries them. I found my Maggie dress there. I also went to the Wedding Center in Commack. They had a huge selection of gowns, but I didn't have the greatest experience there with the staff. It was worth the trip to be able to try on so many different types of dresses though. Good luck with your search!

Just like Susan said, Lillette's in Baldwin- they have awesome consultants to work with. That's where I found my Maggie gown!!!
Renate's in Lindenhurst, Princess Bridal in Farmingdale (although I wouldn't order from them)....those are off the top of my head....

Customer service is a big deal for me. If they treat me like whatever or harass me I'm out the door! I'll definitely go to Lillettes. Thanks!

If customer service is a big deal to you then you definately should check out Lidia's in Copiague-The girls there are so sweet and extra helpful. I am not sure what designers they carry b/c I ordered my gown elsewhere, but my girls and my mom ordered their gowns at Lidias-I love them there!

I loved Lynbrook Bridal. They have a great selection of what your looking for. Ask for Carmela, and tell her Melanie sent you . You'll be treated like a queen!!!

Lynbrook Bridal is the best!!! I just ordered my BM dresses there, but between me and my friends we've been using them for years!! Carmela is awesome!!!! And their prices and alterations are so reasonable!!!

If you want customer service Angel Bridals in East Islip is the place to go... They have treated me so wonderfully there I can not say enough!
