I think they are both beautiful but I would go with #2 for invitation bands just because you're not officially an 'M' yet.

I say #2 because I don't think you should use your last name initial until after the ceremony. JMO

I would go with the one with the M (#1).

Although Emily Post and the other official ettiquette people say you shouldn't use your monogram last name initial until the actual wedding day, let's be real here... you would be using the monogram for a **wedding related item** where you are announcing that you will become husband and wife and will have the same last name. I think it is MORE than fine to use the M for your invites.

That is not meant to offend anyone who doesn't believe in using them, it's just my personal view.
