Re: which one?
An elementary school teacher (that's what I went to school for). I love kids and I love teaching. Plus, I could never give people shots or draw blood - that's a little too much for me

Re: which one?
Personally I would be an RN. Im not too squeamish, and my mom and grandma are both RN's. You dont have to work in a hospital either, my mom is an RN and is a school nurse and just works at the hospital on the weekends when she is bored and my dad is away. I think it takes a certain kind of person to be an RN though, because you will be around sick and dying people, maybe even children, and you will have to deal with all of the emotions that go with that.

Re: which one?
Nurse's hardly draw blood, that's what phlebotomists are for and needles are the least icky thing nurses do!! Nursing is a lot of hard work. Nursing care is 24/7 and that includes holidays, yes you will have to work them. And it is by no means glamorous.

Teaching so I dont have to work overnights, holidays, summers, snow days, etc. Teachers get off for everything!

Good point. What about a school nurse.

Re: which one?
I would choose to be an RN if I had to choose. I couldnt imagine working with kids everyday. Just not for me.
But teachers have the best schedules imaginable and RN's definitely do not!

To be honest I could never go back to working 5 days a week. Full time and I only work three. Most people in nursing agree. Obviously there are pluses and minus as far as hours are concerned but I love not working everyday but I miss my holidays. Personally I chose to work the night shift and when I have children I will work part time. Maybe one shift a week.

Re: which one?
I have a master's in Elementary Education and am a practicing attorney. My girlfriend from law school was a cardiac care nurse when she decided to go to law school.. She always talks fondly of how she loved working as a nurse. She prefers the medical/nursing career to that of law. I personally can't take blood, so I would obviously pick teaching.
