Which rehearsal day/time would you choose?

Which rehearsal day/time would you choose?

I'm getting married on a Friday evening and I have always said that I did NOT want the rehearsal and RD to be the night before the wedding (I just don't want to get back from the RD and be up all night because I feel like there's still something to do or I'm so 'up' that I can't go to sleep, etc etc etc).

So I really wanted to do the RD two nights before, but because of masses and other weekly things at the church, our only options are:

Option 1:
TWO nights before (Wednesday evening)
Rehearsal at 5:30pm
Dinner afterwards at about 6:30pm
(*Possible Issues: Can everyone get out of work in time to be at the church by 5;30pm? Still not sure if BM will be coming into NYC on this day or the next day*)

Option 2:
TWO nights before (Wednesday evening)
Rehearsal at 8:30pm
Dinner afterwards at about 9:30pm
(*Possible Issues: Is it too late? A few of our guests that night have young kids so I'm afraid it will end too late for them. Also, still not sure if BM will be coming into NYC on this day or the next day*)

Option 3:
NIGHT BEFORE (Thursday evening)
Rehearsal at 6:00pm (or 6:30? I forget which).
Dinner after at about 7:30pm.
(*Possible Issues: Will I be stressed b/c it's the night before the wedding - I would get home after 10pm and will probably be up a few hours after that...*)

Ihave to say that you will NOT stay up all night. I thought the same thing and really the rehearsal and dinner drains you, I was so awake and when we got home I was OUT!

Thanks Peggy! It's a 3 way tie right now!

I think I'm more concerned about anything last minute that comes up or has to be done/finished and staying up late because of that. I can say/think that everything will be 100% done before the night before the wedding, but I know stuff happens

Oh yes things will-but designate someone else to do that stuff! Whether its mom or your MOH-this is what I did

i chose option one b/c that is when we are having our rehearsal two days before and not too late. I dont know about other families but i know my family can talk and talk for hours!!

I'm having mine just as you described it in option 3 so I have to go with that one!!!! I don't think you'll have trouble sleeping after the rehearsal, I think you'll be excited but tired enough too. Plus w/ a Fri afternoon wedding you probably won't have to wake up soooo early (as in you don't have to get up at 5 or 6 am) so you can sleep a little bit later in the morning.

I think I would pick Wed early becuse I'd rather keep the day before free as you say, just in case. If something does come up you'll be thinking about it the whole dinner.
And I usually feel terrible when I eat so late. I would hope that those who need to be there would be able to get some time from work to get there for the rehearsal. If it's only one or two maybe they can at least get to dinner and you could fill them in - - can someone bring a camcorder for the AWOL??

I like # 1. I think it gives more time to rest.
