Re: Which RH?........
The only place I've been to out of all those was Rosyln Claremont Hotel for NYE for the past 3 years. I will say the food is very good, and the place is soooooo beautiful inside. Very quaint and cozy...... Small though. If you do plan on spending your wedding night there, if you book, be careful....the beds are so uncomfrotable! The whole rm was clean and neat tho....I've never seen a bathroom in a hotel as clean as it was at Roslyn Claremont.
I am going to a wedding at the Woodlands in July......
Can I suggest Villa Lombardi's or Lombardi's on the Sound???

Well... I am biased... But honestly, we couldn't make the minimum for Glen Cove Mansion, otherwise I would've had it there. Roslyn Claremont was a basement lol... and OVERPRICED!
i heard great things about glen cove woodlands- i just couldnt afford either places b/c i needed to have my wedding on a sat night- the met is awesome!!

the only place i looked at on your list was the woodlans. and it jsut wasnt for me. The inside was cozy and pretty nice but I was not impressed with the way the building looked on the outside, the steps were cracked , and the golf course is right outside the room.

i didnt even know they had two weddings at a time! my friend got married there and i thought we were the only party (perhaps we were though!) so i guess u can also take a chance and hope that no one else books it there??? but even if there were another party i def didn't notice. the food was good and i had a great time...the drive from nassau wasnt that bad.
what types of places are u interested in? mansions, ballrooms, beach, water? would u do a venue in nyc or way out east etc?

Re: Which RH?........
I am looking for a mansion wedding. I am going to visit the Glen Cove Mansion this weekend. I went to Oheka caslte, it was amazinggggggg, I really want to get married there but its sooooo expensive. If worse comes to worse I'll get married at the Oheka off peak if I dont find another place I loveeeeee. I want a venue that is right on the water with an outdoor coctail hour. At first I really wanted to have a city wedding, I have visited Gotham Hall and Capitale both in the city, they were amazing but then I changed my mind, its just not me. I want to start BOOKINGGGGGG

Re: Which RH?........
Woodlands is like a smaller version of Oheka - and the woodlands looks like its in better shape. the outsoors is great for photos and you cna have an outdoor cocktail party there.
the clairmont is nice - and the food is good but its jsut like any other ballroom. not sure if u can have an outdoor cocktail party
the Royalton - inside is totall beautiful but its in the middle of a residential area and the outside of the building is not that impressive.
Oheka - the out doors looks good - would be great for photos!!
thats all for now. hope that helps. :

Re: Which RH?........
We looked at almost all of the same places. I was in LOVE with the Royalton, but we are looking at 250 ppl and in our opinion if you couldn't have the cocktail hour outside (due to weather) then there was nowhere for all of those people to go. I went to a party there for about 170 ppl, and it was pretty crowded. We had the same issue with Glen Cove Mansion (plus, there are people all over the place because it is also a hotel and conference center).

Re: Which RH?........
I loved the Woodlands. Take note of how many guests you are having because some of your listed facilities dont hold that many ex. deservesky, roslyn claremont.. and deservesky makes you and all your vendors sign a bunch of agreements that you wont smoke, use tape on the walls/floors, have flower petals that may stain etc.

Thanks for this info. I wouldnt want a RH that has many exclusions in how you can decorate, etc

Re: Which RH?........
I have checked out the Woodlands, very nice a bit pricey though. I think it was b/w 150-175 pp. They do seem negotiable though.

Re: Which RH?........
My MOH is paying like $126pp with a vienese and extra 1/2 hour....but they gave her that deal b/c she's getting married on Fri the 13th....there's one in June of 08 if your willing. They might cut u a break. The woman she dealt with is no longer there so they may not come down that low but its something....
