Which Sandals St. Lucia resort do you recommend?

Hi Ladies!

FH and I are seriously considering St.Lucia for our honeymoon and I was wondering which resort we should stay at. I know they have the stay at one, but play at 3 deal, but they are all so beautiful, its hard to choose. Which one did you stay and why did you stay there? Any feedback about this would be awesome! Thanks so much!!

We went to La Toc for our honeymoon!! It was AWESOME!!! We loved it :)
We visited the Grande, very nice also but smaller
We passed through Hylacon (sp?) which seemed even smaller

We loved La Toc :)
I think the beach at the Grande is larger but the La Toc beach was beautiful too!

I heard La Toc was very hilly and needed a ride to go from place to place. Not sure if this is accurate or an exaggeration. lol

We are also considering St Lucia, but would prob stay at the Grande after a few nights at a more private resort (either Ladera or Windjammer). The split stay is interesting since we are going to do a 9 night HM and dont want to get bored at one place.

This is exactly what we are going to do. We are going to split our st.lucia stay between sandals and probably ladera

FH has reservations about Ladera bc of the open air 'wall' but thought it did look cool. It's a once in a life time trip, but I dont know if I am totally sold on the open wall. Windjammer looks great, but it might be a min 4 night stay. Our TA is researching.

I thought my FH was going to say 'no way' once he saw the no wall, but once he saw the view, he was sold. And you are right, it is a once in a life time trip, so I figure it is worth it! I think if we stay at Ladera, we will book their 3 night package.

Re: Which Sandals St. Lucia resort do you recommend?

We just came back from St. Lucia Sandals Grande a week ago (so sad). We had an UNBELIEVABLE time. Each resort really depends on what you are looking for. We just wanted to relax and I wanted to be able to walk literally 40 feet and be in the carribean and we were, it was perfect. Everything in the Grande is farely close to one another so you don't have to walk far to reach the front desk or anything.

We ate at La Toc and that looks nice as well but I have heard that you have to take a shuttle to dinner/beach. I am not positive about that but we did have to take a shuttle to their hibatchi restuarant Kimono's. We did like La Toc's buffet better.

You are going to LOVE it no matter where you stay!!

Thanks for your feedback!! I think we are between la toc and the Grande. Can I ask how the nightlife was and what kind of room you stayed in. Picking the room is hardest thing right now!

We stayed at Grande and ABSOULTELY LOVED IT!!! More details in my review, but we're so glad we stayed there. They have the best beach out of all three of the resorts -- we literally were on the beach every day and its soooo relaxing. The food was DELICIOUS, the people there were so amazing and accommodating and we met so many awesome other honeymooners. We stayed in a beach front suite and it was perfect. We were rarely in our room, but it was so nice to wake up to the sound of the beach.

There's not much of a night life, there's actually none lol. I think one or two nights a week they have a band there, but that ends at like 11pm and then they have a 'DJ' in this big room, but it's not a real DJ (atleast when we were there), more like a CD that goes on repeat lol. But we didn't care because we're not too into night life, and after a day of eating and being on the beach/pool, we just wanted to relax. Sooo nice to go on the hammocks late at night and just fall asleep there.

Re: Which Sandals St. Lucia resort do you recommend?

We stayed in the Penthouse Honeymoon Beachfront. The view was VERY important to us and we are so happy we got that room. We actually had another couple we met there ask to see our room and they said 'if we had known this was the view we would have paid more money.' We also got conceirge level for that room and we loved it. For example they could not get us reservations at the restaurant we wanted on a specific night so they booked us a different restaurant and then gave us complimentary Gordons (the butler restaurant you have to pay for). It was just a nice touch to make you feel a little more special.
The night life is not very wild. Believe it or not, when we were there they had Karaoke 2 nights and those nights were packed until atleast 1 in the morning. We had a lot of people that liked to sing, lol. There is a DJ or Band each night but not many of the couples were into the night life. A couple we met and us attempted to go to the night life a few times on our trip and there was only about 5 couples that were there. Guess people were not into it. There is a pub that is open until 2 a.m. every night though!
