which should I get

I am looking to get a new car, and I dont know which one to get. I am torn between 5

1. vw passat

2. vw Jetta

3. toyota celica

4. nissan maxima

5. toyota sciom

I voted for Celica because I had two of them growing up - they are GREAT cars and so good looking

-parts are expensive; insurance is high b/c it's stolen a lot

2. vw Jetta
-great car; highly recm'd

3. toyota celica
-i personally am not a fan of it

4. nissan maxima
-headlights get stolen from this car, and it's not covered on your insurance and will cost you $2,000 to have them replaced

5. toyota sciom

-i voted for this one b/c it's a great price for quality and quantity.

i voted for maxima, b/c i have a sentra and really want to get a new one. i like nissan's, i'm not crazy about the new passat

I'd say Nissan Maxima, but I might be biased, because I have a Nissan!!!

My second choice would be the vw Jetta, my girlfriend just got one and she LOVES IT!!!!

I don't think you can go wrong with any of them. Depends on your 'style.' Happy Shopping!!!

Not a fan of VW-I just turned 2 cars in off the lease and good riddance. Out of all of them the Maxima is my pick.

I have to say though, I was between the Maxima and the Accord and went with the Accord.

does anyone here own a jetta or passat. i love them both and i read online that they have a lot of problems, but i know 2 people that have them and they said they have had no problems at all.

FH's sister has a Jetta and she hasn't had any problems.

Ughh...don't get me started with the Jetta. I have always wanted one. Everyone told me not to b/c of all the problems. Of course I didn't listen. I have had the car for 3 months now, its been serviced 3 times and is still broken. I've already put over a grand into fixing things that should not have been broken on a NEW CAR!!!!!! Driving out of the lot, my brakelights were out, ugh... from day 1. Unexcusable...Never again. I get it serviced b/c the engine light comes on, drive it out of the service dept and around the block and bam light back on. I can go on and on and I'm telling you, i've only had the thing three months.

My bro had a VW Beetle, lots of problems there too.. I should have listened. This car is costing me way too much money b/c they keep telling me the warranty doesnt' cover it.

Out of all these cars I say go for the maxima - I have a Jetta that I bought brand new and I have had so many problems with it...FH wants to sell so bad...I had a Jetta when I first got my license and they were not so popular no problems what so ever...now that they have become a 'me too' car you know 'I have a Jetta' 'Oh me too!!! ' they are made like crap...although I have to say I know a few people who bought their Jetta the same time as I did and got the 6 cylinder and not one of them has had any problems with it...I think they are made better because everyone gets the smaller engine - more in demand...jmo

My advice to you is stay away from the VW's. They are the absolute worst. I originally leased a 2000 Passat brand new and had nothing but problems (ex. breaking down 2 weeks out of the dealership due to an electrical malfunction). I had a few more instances and wrote them off to my bad luck with that one car. Then, the company I worked for decided to provide us with vehicles and signed on nationally with VW and leased Jettas and Passats for all of its Sales staff. I was excited and hoped that this experience would be entirely different. Needless to say that in the past 3 years every single one of us have had problems. Stick to Japanese vehicles.

I had a celica, it was a great car, but small in the back. If you ever want passengers, they will have to squeeze into the backseat. I have the Toyota Matrix now, so much roomier!
I thought they weren't making them anymore, are you getting a used one?

they have a 2005, its brand new. The 2005 is the last for the celica.

I have a Passat and love it! I've had it for a year and a half without any problems! It drives so nice... I recently had it services because of damage I did to it. Otherwise, I have had no problems. In my opinion, it's a great car

I voted for Nissan Maxima...my MOH has a Passat which was great for the first two years and then forget it...EVERYTHING started going wrong with it...how convenient-after the two year manufacturer's warranty had expired.

I like VWs but I have heard rants and raves about them. I would be too nervous to take a chance.
I like the look of the celicas, but I think the maxima is the best out of all of them.

Well, my FH is in the business of fixing cars and from his experience and his knowledge of cars (it's more like an obsession) from your list, the Nissan Maxima would be #1, the Celica #2
