which do you think would work better, a more expensive one like in the upper 200s or 300 range or one that might be lower in price but specifically advertises that its for pet hair...do you think they all work good on pet hair and its just a gimick to get you in???

Re: Which vacuum for pet hair
my old vacuum recently broke so i went to wal mart & bought the cheapest vacuum they had. its the PowerForce by Bissell. it only cost me $40. it has 5 surface settings, comes with the hose attachment and Dusting/Upholstery Tool, Extension Wand, Crevice Tool. then i bought this arm & hammer carpet deodorizer.
this is the best vacuum i have ever used. it worked miracles to pick up all the cats fur.
my mom has one of those super expensive 'pet hair' removal vacuums & i personally don't think its works very well. every time i leave her house i am covered in dog hair.

Re: Which vacuum for pet hair
thanks guys!
yes, if you could find out the name that would be great.
on the subject of vacuums, this is really random and growing up i guess i thought it was normal but now i realize that i dont think anyone does this. my mom still thinks its normal and that everyone does it.....They have a vacuum lady! She comes in once a year to work on the vacuum, change filters and stuff, lol but guess what that vacuum has been around for like 20 years.

Re: Which vacuum for pet hair
The Dyson Animal is the best vacuum in the world but my Walmart Bissel for pets works well too. But what I love the best is my mini-shopvac that I made FH buy me.

Re: Which vacuum for pet hair
ahhh my pointless Vacuum research has finally paid off!
i sat there for 2 hours researching and this is what i came up with for pet hair and grimy carpets: Bissell Velocity Dual Cyclonic Upright Vacuum - 3950. it's $140 at Target.
this thing has gotten more positive reviews than any i was looking at and was even compared to a Dyson.
the only downfall to this model is that it's not as good on hardwood floors as it is on carpets
