We've narrowed down our choices, but I'm so afraid of commitment (to a venue, not FH), that I need opinions.
Here it goes!

Ditto...I had such a hard time to committing to one of my top three!!! Good luck and let us know what you finally decide! And remember, at the end of THAT day, its your happiness and your FH that matter :)
If one doesn't jump out at you as being The One, you need to compare what each venue has to offer for the price and figure out what you like and don't like about each one. Chances are that some will start to become more front-runners than the others and you can narrow it down even further.

Anyone had their wedding/been to one at The Metropolitan? I can't believe they're listed on LIW at $60pp. That can't be right.

I've been to a wedding a swan club, it's very pretty and the food was good to. I think they are pretty reasonably priced too.
I wouldn't base your prices on LIW website. They aren't even close to accurate.

Did you go to all the venues and look at them and get prices?

We've been to Swan Club and Douglaston Manor so far. Riviera quoted me $70++pp which is the same as DM, but $5 more pp than SC. I want to stay in that range.

I went to Swan Club for a wedding and it was beautiful. I've also heard a lot of great things about them both from past brides and brides in the planning process.
I personally was obsessed with Stewart Manor Country Club because I loved the look of the room but in comparing it to the Riviera in Massapequa- Riviera was cheaper, a little more updated (as far as the cocktail hour room) and they offered more. This was all based on pictures though because I haven't seen either one yet in person but I did call for info. (Riviera was also extremely friendly and willing to answer questions and give me whatever info I needed over the phone). Hope that helps!!

I vote swan club all the way but I'm biased! I would have looked into riviera but its too small for our guest list...metropolitan looks nice too but I never looked into it since I have heard mixed reviews about the food on here

I think you need to go and look at the places. Yes price is important but you may decide that the difference of 5 dollars one way or the other probably wont make much of a difference and you should go with a venue that you love. Also you have to remember Swan Club may be the perfect place for one person but not go with your vision.

Which venue?
We have only seen Swan Club and Douglaston Manor. Swan Club fulfills my love for flowers, and limits what I need in terms of decor. Douglaston Manor offers more in terms of food. Ultimately, while I love flowers, I think the food will be more important to me for my guests. No one give a crap about the flowers.
But a lot of people are recommending The Riviera. So I'll definitely look at it on the 23rd.

I visited Riviera, and really liked the look. I agree with the girl above that the cocktail room was outdated, and didnt love the shape of the room (I have a bit of OCD and like things to be somewhat symmetrical). But they did offer a TON of food, and the BM was a delight to speak with.
Metropolitan I've heard really good things about. I work right near it so decided to stop in one day an didnt love the idea of the split floor plan, where some people my be sitting on a sort of balcony. But that's just my opinion.
A friend of mine is getting married at Douglaston Manor this coming December, and has had nothing but wonderful things to say about them so far. I grew up in Little Neck, and had my middle school prom there, and don't remember the food, but I remember it was beautiful.
I went to a wedding at Swan Club within the past 3 years. It was in the smaller room, but the cocktail hour was outside, so we got to check out the gardens too. It's beautiful, and the actual hall looked nice too. The food was adequate, but nothing to write home about. I also felt that the CH wasn't huge, but that may have been because it was such a small wedding party (I'd guess under 100 people).
I looked at Stewart Manor CC when venue search, and the room itself was so unique. It would've been perfect for a rustic themed wedding, and I wish I had a smaller guest list. I think SMCC is one of those places that gives the country-ish look, like things you'd see on Pinterest, in the middle of a suburban area. I didnt like that the outdoor ceremony area was right off the Main Street. I just pictured someone passing by and honking and that would be on my video forever. I also felt that the CH area here was also outdated. But if you're looking for rustic, this place is PERFECT!!
I didnt go to Stewart Thomas Manor. Lol.
I do agree with the other girls that if its just a difference of $5pp, you need to go look at each venue and see the feeling you get after seeing them.
Hope this helps!!

I vote Swan Club but of course that is me being biased
Before making a decision, def check out ALL the venues on your list. I visited about 14 venues (I'm Bronx, Westchester & LI) before making a decision. When I walked the Swan Club grounds I just knew it was the place and they were in the price range we wanted so it worked out perfectly.

I know that everyone is very partial to th riviera and I know my experience may have been just a one time thing, but the day of my sisters wedding (at th riviera) a bunch if things went wrong that was all on the venues fault and we received no apologies. Beautiful place but just thought I should mention it

Just wanted to add I visited Stuart Thomas Manor and Stewart Manor Country Club today. This is just my personal opinion but based on the other halls you listed, dont even waste your time visiting Stuart Thomas Manor. It pales in comparison to the others. But Stewart Manor Country club was beautiful! In person I didn't think any of it was outdated but it's not for everyone. It has more of a rustic homey feel than a catering hall. The cocktail hour is in their main lobby but my future SIL booked her wedding today so not a deal breaker :) FM me if you need any other info.

I didn't see in the responses...
Does the Riviera have indoor ceremony space? I went to the gallery on the website, and I didn't see any.

Re: Which venue?
I went to a friend's wedding at the Metropolitan last June. He definitely paid more than $60pp and I wasn't super impressed with the food. The place was pretty though.
