Which Venue do you like better chateau briand or fox hollow
I cant decide between chateau briand and fox hollow. I love the outside miami feeling at cb and planning on getting married in june and would have cocktail out there but if rains then have the europa room, and for the reception have the normandy or saturina room. But not thrilled with all mirros bc i want uplightig so i have to get white drapes, and not sure how much that going cost.. both menus are great, havnet tasted the food yet but been in businees for iover 30 yrs. Fox hollow great for pictures the hotel is right there and nice would have ch in coloinal bria fox which i correct my self because i did not want to offend anyone but a little dark for the color theme i going with. then dinner in winter pavillion which is gorgeous.
Please help me decide.. thanks girls congrats to all and best wishes

well i had my reception in the'outdated'briar fox room and it was fine
once they figured out how to get water and power into the old building the horses and buggies brought the guests over and we were fine

I don't think she meant to offend anyone. Her opinion is that its a little outdated.
To the op I have been to both and you can't go wrong with either one but I think I would go with fox hollow. I remember really liking the food.

Although your comment about Fox Hollow really annoyed me so early in the morning....I will say this, they both have completely different decor, so its all what your looking for as a theme for your wedding.
And a word to the wise, since your new here, you may not want to insult people's RH's right off the bat. Your opinion is fine, but try finding a better way to put things.

I say CB (clearly); we liked the unique feeling there better, plus the food was far superior.
Our main concern about Fox Hollow (and why we ruled it out) was b/c of the food and also b/c the room we would have been in (Garden room maybe?) didn't have a very good setup for all guests to see the couple.
As for your concern about the mirrors, ask if they can cover the mirrors with curtains. We discovered last week that, in fact, one of the walls isn't permanent (surprise!) in the Saturnia room. So if they can hide a non-permanent wall then they can find a way to hide the mirrors. If you decide on CB and really want the uplighting, try to negotiate the hiding of mirrors into the contract.

also just wanted to let you know that if your CH is in briar fox, then your reception is NOT in winter garden pavillion....your reception would have to be in the garden terrace.

Your guests will spend the majority of time in the reception room so with that said I would opt for Fox Hollow since you love the Wintergarden pavillion.
My reception was in the wintergarden and uplights were AMAZING in that room. I also had reservations about the cocktail hour room (the lantern gallery and the other room upstairs) but it was actually really nice. Overall they did a great job.

I vote for Chateau (obviously) but go with your gut. We loved the art deco / unique feel of Chateau but Fox Hollow had a really homey, comfy feeling also.

I once got flamed on here for asking for ideas for halls with a 'North Shore feel' and got into a huge family fight because I said I didn't want to have my wedding at a holet,. Everyone likes different things. There are places I would never personally want to have my wedding, but it doesn't mean I wouldn't have a great time as a guest there.

i looked at both chateau briand and fox hollow. i ended up booking with fox hollow because i liked the style of it better versus the art-deco design of chateau briand, but that was just my opinion. i am in the garden terrace room (changed my wedding to daytime so i could guarantee less people for this room) and like the fact that i can have my CH out in the garden if it is nice out.

a old friend of mine had her reception at Fox Hollow and one of my MOH's attended as a guest. She said it was a very nice place and the food was very good.
Chateau Briand was actually on our original list of places to see. We never got that far because once we saw our RH we knew it was the one for us. I really like the outdoor cocktail area though at CB. What we originally wanted to do when we were considering them was have the entire event out there and do a buffet style dinner but I heard that they only allow the outdoor area for CH - I could be wrong though, never actually contacted them about it.
