While Planning the wedding, Did you or FH...

Original post by CloudNine

get a second job?

i'm finding that i am getting nervous about the cost or the wedding and little details i would like to add.
i'm contemplating a second job (weekends and maybe 1 night a week)

have you girls done or planning on doing this? what kind of job did you pick up and do you think it was worth it?

I pick up extra emergency shits- my job does allow me more flexibility as I don't work 5 days a week- I just work 14-16 hour days :( I think the most was thanksgiving 23 hours straight...

I'm in the middle of applying for a part time job now...hopefully I'll be able to do weekends & one to two nights a week. FH tutors 5 nights a week...and hopefully we'll be signing a purchase agreement for a home pretty soon...so this may not be so temporary after all.

FH is just working alot of OT. So that really helps, I want to get another job but there is just no time wokring full time and getting my MBA at night. Plus, i'm salaried, so even if i work OT i dont get paid for it

No, I am the one worrying about $$. FH assures me we'll be fine and have enough at the end...lets see

That was never an option. I work too much as it is and FH owns his business so he is there always. If I couldn't afford something, I personally wouldn't do it. That's just me. I have cut back on some items (limos, honeymoon etc.) so I can splurge on others (flowers) and still meet my budget.
