We originally wanted whip cream with strawberries, but the cake we want they can't do in whip cream. We are doing a similiar cake to bethsiar. I definately don't want fondant. What filling goes good with butter cream? Can I still do strawberries? What does everyone prefer?

I originally wnated whipped cream too, but they cannot decorate my cake how I want it with whipped creamm, so I went with buttercream!

They have a mixture of Whipped Cream and Butter Cream called 'Better Cream'... you should see if your place or bakery where you are getting your cake made does that.
I like butter cream too, but I'm just wondering...If you really want strawberries, I think they have to be refrigerated (correct me if I'm wrong), not sure if you should refrigerate butter cream? I know my cousin/uncle own a bakery & they always use whipped cream w/ strawberries (like a Straw.Shortcake for example) b/c w.c. needs to be refrigerated. Just something to think about, I would ask your baker.
Lots of stuff goes w/ Buttercream, do you like chocolate fillings? Maybe a ganache?
