Since maagzines can be so decieving, do you know which desingers use real silk and satin rahter than polyester blends and use hand beading rather than appliques? thanks! and price ranges too, thanks!

When I was gown shopping the quality of the silk.satin was most important to me.,... i didn't want a lot of beading, just a rich looking fabric.

I found that in Reem Acra and Ines di Santo gowns. I also liked the fabrics in Kenneth Pools line.

ines di santo - are all silk from italy - a lot of hand embroidary in her dresses - she also prices the dresses based on how much time it takes to make so they range from $3,000 - about $8,000

What Ines di santo dress do you have, her dresses are beautiful and so are remm acra's.

Oh, forgot to add Ramona Keveza gowns are fab too. Not much beading but their satins and lace are beautiful.

Demetrios gowns are not made from silk.

Yes, Lazaro! Mine was a Lazaro. Not beaded, but with amazing embroidery. I also tried on one of his beaded ones and they practically had to put a gun to my head to make me take it off, it was so stunning.

Mine was a Christos and it was silk. I, too, am a fabric snob.

I know Priscilla of Boston are well made, silk gowns.

My gown is by Yolanda Couture - I don't know much about fabric, but my Grandma used to be a dress maker and said the silk/satin was of extremely high quality - The gowns are hand beaded and embroidered as well .......

Wow, you guys are so lucky to be able to afford a designer dress. Me I will try to find a sample. Anyways my favorite is by far Reem Acra. Eventhough my latest obsession is this gown by Saison Blanche.
