white bridal bouquet with colored wrap?

white bridal bouquet with colored wrap?

Has anyone done this before?

I think I want to do an all white/ivory bouquet, but I'm toying around with the idea of having a colored ribbon wrap on it. Either the blue ribbon I just purchased and posted about, or maybe some extra BM dress fabric (we have a yard of it). Otherwise I'll just go with white/ivory.

I like the idea of tying in a little blue somehow, but there aren't many blue flowers that come naturally and I'm just exploring my options. Would that be too distracting and weird? has anyone done this? pictures? Any other ideas?

I don't recall seeing that but it's something I would consider. I would do a mostly white/ivory wrap (depending on which color you're wearing) and maybe use the blue braided in so it's not such a contrast. I do like the idea of integrating it in though. Love that blue!!!

yeah they will help you...when i went for my sample i mentioned doing the bm bok's in chocolate brown wrap and she brought out brown ribbon to show me how it would look.

I think i do have a pic with a bok in a blue wrap, let me try finding it

that would be great! i also decided i dont think i want just coral callas for the BM bouquets because i want to try to avoid the whole blue/orange mets thing. i bought my sis flowers for her 21st and they had pinks, orange, lime green etc in it and i think something like that might work better as a bright BM bouquet w/out looking too 'Mets' -- I'll see what other samples pedestals suggests but I'm still undecided

that's really pretty!! my only concern is don't most bride bouquets have a very thick 'stem' because there are so many flowers? I don't know if it would be overkill with all of the blue, and I'm not sure if it would need a wrapped bottom.

guess i need to talk to the florist about that

unless you do it with the stems showing...my bok was HUGE and VERY VERY VERY heavy it was hard to hold actually lol...so you dont have to go that big, you can do about the size of the bok posted above if you really want

The blue ribbon sounds like a nice idea.

That is gorgeous! My florist said that in August for an outdoor ceremony they recommend a full wrap so I would ask your florist.

i dont want to worry about the stems staining my dress, so I think i'm going to go with a full wrap. maybe a full wrap in one color with a second color ribbon going over part of it.

here are a few diff styles of wraps

Yeah that makes sense about the dress. I'm sure your florist can help guide you with what your vision is.
