White Casablanca Lillies

White Casablanca Lillies

So...I always have loved these lillies...but I also pictured them on the beach somewhere....tropical.

Far from Russos'......so...that being said...do you think white casablanca lillies will look to tropical or summery for a September wedding?

I love those dang flowers...however, I don't even know what season they are in.....anyone?

Sorry, Nina. I checked my Martha Stewart planner and all it says about the Casablanca Lily is that it 'has a heady fragrance so use it sparingly in centerpieces; remove pistols to avoid staining clothing'

It doesn't say anything about what time of year they are available. But I can say they are beautiful!!!!

Oh Thanks Tracy...hey...that is a bit of info I did not know..

I love those flowers because they remind me of Puerto Rico..and the beach.

But I booked Russos because of the Italian marble feel and I was gonna go romanesque..
I am currently feeling wedding theme schizophrenia...no fun!

I love them, they are beautiful, I dont see why you can't use it unless mother nature calls and they are not in season but otherwise they are beautiful.

Hey... those are beautiful flowers, you can get them any time of the year, but they are probably the most expensive type of lily, so be aware. Also, as someone above mentioned, they can be very strong-odored, so do use them sparingly.

As far as using them in Sept, If you are doing mostly fall-colors, then they probably won't go, but if you aren't doing ''fall colors' then they will work.

I think that thay are very pretty - and I think they will be perfect for a Sept wedding!

My sister got married in Sept -(and at Russos) and she used all white calalilies - and the florist stilll has pictures in his catalog(it was his biggest wedding then - 450ppl) and he sd the room looked like 'flower heaven') bc it was all white flowers - was very elegent - and looked pretty in the Russo's room.

If your in love with the flowers, and can get them - then go for it - your only getting married once right, so get what you've always dreamed of!

Well to give you an idea... generally florists will price according to stem, although flowers are for the most part bought in a bunch (ranging anywhere from 10-25 stems) so even if you wanted just 1 lilly, you'd get charged more since they can't just buy one; also lily's are kinda different cause 1 stem can have anywhere between 1-5 flower heads on it... that said, price-wise, a daisy will be say $2; a carnation $2; a rose $5-7 (depending on length of stem, size of head and color) a stargazer lily (those pinky-purple ones) with 1-2 flowers on it $7-9, the orangey lilys can be like $5-7; your white casablanca's are usually like $5 a head.. meaning a stem with 4 heads will be like $15-20.

If you were gonna use a decent amount of them they may not charge you as much, since you'll be using all they are buying (think the whole buy-in-bulk theory) but that would depend on the florist... but if you were gonna use a couple in a bridal bouquet - the typical flowers used in there are more expensive anyway, so it may not be a drastic difference... again, would depend on whats in the bq.

Re: White Casablanca Lillies

i think my florist had those in the CP's or smtg similar, to kind of fill it a bit...i asked not to have them, because i wanted more color and the smell is too strong for me...but i think for a september wedding they are fine, hey girl its what you love...i dont know if you should do the whole CP with them since they are very strong smelling(they make me sneeze) if you do a couple in the CP that would probably be great!
