He will be a great asset to theCatholic Church, he will follow in John Paul II footsteps, he is very strict and they cal him Cardinal 'NO', meaning he is not very liberal. the Catholic churchs are very excited with the decision.

This is the priest who railed against the Beatles in 1996 and who said that AC/DC stood for After Christ/Dead Christ.

He's even more conservative than John Paul was, which is pretty hard.

While the Catholic Church may be happy, Catholics in the U. S. are not happy.

We need major reform in the church otherwise, Catholics will continue to not go to church or convert to other religions. This is of course, fine if that is what a person wants, but as a staunch Catholic, I know the difference between the institution and faith.

What Rome does is intertwine the two and that causes problems for many liberal Catholics.

I will be interested in hearing what the new Pope's response will be the the sex crimes in the U.S. Pope John II did very lilttle.
