White vinegar as a conditioner?

White vinegar as a conditioner?

Anyone ever heard of this or try it? I read it online. I mixed it w/ water and sprayed my hair w/ it with a water bottle. My hair looks 100x healthier. I left it on for like 10 minutes and then washed it out in the shower. It doesn't smell either. Thought I'd share.

Here is what I read...

To help remove any build up that your shampoo may have missed, try this conditioning treatment once a week: Mix a half-teaspoon of white vinegar with a pint of water. Pour it on your hair, let it sit for a few minutes and rinse out. Do this 2 -3 times a month at night.

I think it has something to do with restoring the pH and therefore smoothing out the hair.
If you look on the ingreident lists of many hair care products you will find acetic acid but usually it is a small percentage.
Vinegar can also be used on the scalp to prevent dandruff and on the hair to kill lice.

My mom taught me that trick when I was a teenager. I also sometimes do a cranberry rinse it helps bring out the red in my hair.

I still haven't tried this. I know that vinegar is a 'remedy' for many things- and many people use it as a home cleaning product insteaqd of the store bought stuff.

yeah, white vinegar gets tile floors SO CLEAN! No films like cleaning products --- but it can get a little smelly, so I usually do it on a day where I can open some windows!

I would love to try it on my hair, but I'm afraid to use it with the semi-pernament haircolor in my hair right now- I'll wait til it fades (in case there's some strange reaction or something...)

could you imagine? watch me turn my head orange or something - then I'd have to say 'but....but....but....LIW told me to do it!!!'

Vinegar Works Wonders!!!

I've used when doing laundry for colored clothing. YOu add it along with your detergent. It keeps your clothing bright.

Also, when living with My room mate in TX, We had a dead squirrel between our walls and they had to inject the walls with vinegar to get rid of the smell. It worked.

Looking forward to using it as a conditioner.

I've never tried the vinegar, but I have tried Mayo and Beer (not together! ) They both work really good at making hair soft and shiny! I will try the vinegar too!
