OK...I'm not sure whether I should even bother ordering Proactiv, but I'm trying to find out what are good products to get rid of these nasty looking things!!!!

do facials f up your face

I think there's a lot of debate about whether or not facials are bad for you. I honestly don't believe it's facials in-and-of themselves that are bad --it's when you have a facialist who doesn't know what they're doing where there's a danger.

I've had facialists who were really rough with my skin and I came out looking like a monster (no joke) and i've had others where the facial was really rejuvinating and my skin came out looking great. If you have a lot of blackheads and you've never had a facial I recommend getting one just to get all of the gunk out. Then you can start fresh and work on prevention by using something like Proactiv or SkinID and a good moisturizer.

I always use the St. Ive's Apricot Scrub for Blackheads and Blemishes. I had a huge pimple the other day that hadn't really come out yet, but still hurt like hell. I left the scrub on there for about 10 minutes and it was gone the next day! Love that stuff!

i HATE Proactive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It worked for a shot while but ultimately turned out to be a huge waste of money! I use a few Avon products and over all i'm very happy with it. I use the Clearskin with the Mark soapless cleanser.

I use the biore pore strips for my noce for black heads. I love the Avon 'Solutions' though. the thermo scrub works well.

and I do need another facial.... I haven't found that it f's my skin up. I agree about going to a person that knows what they are doing. if you don't, it might not turn out that great

i've heard from numerous people that proactive is great. BUT, your skin kinda becomes dependent on it.

I don't get bad acne but I do get whiteheads...both my sisters use Proactiv and loooove it. They had acne and now they don't....they've used it for years and won;t go without it!!! As for the whiteheads I'm going to the derm and to get a facial to get rid of them...it hurts but I hate them and I can't get rid of them on my own.

I agree, try Proactiv and take it seriously. Moisture is a MUST!!! Try to avoid touching your skin and take multivitamins daily.

I also like Coalface soap by LUSH cosmetics. I use this occassionally rather than the actual Proactiv Cleanser. It cleans without overdrying!

g'luck!

Murad cleansing sets work well. I broke out for the first time in a loooong time like two weeks ago and has really cleared up since, almost completely gone. For the best results, just go to a dermatologist. They will be able to tell you what to do and give you the best stuff. I am making an appointment to make sure that I don't have any more breakouts but I have to wait like a month for an appointment. boo....but worth it. For now, the Murad kit works pretty well. I just don't trust anything that hasn't been prescribed by a doctor to work wonders
