Whiteheads and Blackheads...how do you get rid of them??/
OK...I'm not sure whether I should even bother ordering Proactiv, but I'm trying to find out what are good products to get rid of these nasty looking things!!!!

ME TOO!!!! I was actually just on ebay looking for proactiv. I HATE THESE STUPID THINGS...I'VE TRIED EVERYTHING!!!!
I tried the Clearsil Exfoliating Cleanser...HORRIBLE...completely dried my skin!!!

me too...you cant really tell i have them unless you look close...but i feel like every cleanser i use doesnt work at all..

Oh man...i've dealt with the stuff all my life so I know how it is. To get rid of the blackheads you should definitely get a facial every once in a while (I just had one yesterday after a year--and it wasn't pretty but I feel a lot better).
As for the whiteheads..i've heard proactiv works really well for some people. SkinID by Neutrogena is one that I have used that works really well.
In general...what's worked for me is not messing with my skin too much and making sure I moisturize day and night (I know it sounds weird but trust me, I have oily skin and the moisturizing has done wonders). Also try exfoliating once/week.
B Vitamins such as Pantothenic Acid are also amazing.

When you say pimply skin...do you think it would work for whiteheads? It's under my skin and makes it look bumpy.

I actually saw a commercial about SkinID yesterday. Just checked the site and it says it's suppose to work faster than Proactiv.

id recommend a dermatologist. ive been going to one for years and the drugstore stuff just isn't the same.
i also thoroughly agree with moisturizing, regardless of skin type, day and night. its makes a huge difference. your face is just happier when its moisturized and balanced.

See a derm, they might help. It's also nice to have a derm that knows you, if you get a nasty pimple before the big day, they can give you a cortisone injection! ETA: I've tried proactive before, it really didn't help. They only thing that seems to work somewhat with blackheads is constantly cleaning them out.

I've dealt with acne my whoooole life. My face has finally cleared up after so many years.
I used a face scrub everyday. I use St. Ives Apricot Scrub.
I did use Proactiv for a while but it got to be a little expensive, so I stopped using it.
When I was in High School, my doctor gave me a prescription for Benzaclin. And it worked wonders on my skin too!!!
But if Proactiv doesn't work, I'd see a dermatologist.

Mine had cleared up, but now from all the stress it's breakout city again!!
I've been using Neutrogena (Microclear Power Scrub wash) and while it doesn't work immediately I have seen some improvement. FH has too. It even smells like cucumbers (yummy)!

ProActiv is awesome... and skinID is basically the same thing, it's all combos of benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid products.
I had crazy blackheads and the ProActiv helped. They say you're supposed to use it twice a day, but when I'm diligent which is rarely, I use it twice every other day and once in the morning on alternating days, otherwise it's too much for my skin and it gets way to sensitive. And even though I don't use it religiously, it still helps even if I only use it once a day.
