who are the people in your neighborhood?

Original post by jenny11.9

now that I know how long you all bled for after delivery, and what your best times are to TTC, and what color your munchkin's poop is...

what do you all do for a living? i know a few of you are SAHM's, but what about those going back to work, TTC'ers and even just LURKERS that insist on staying on the fence?

Just curious.

I am in marketing. I am technically VP, but now am working from home doing the books exclusively and dealing with a few of the VIP clients. Not sure yet the schedule on going back. Hoping to start some freelance writing instead....

Ok , next up?

I am a pediatrician, planning to take a 3 month maternity leave, then return to work full time. I guess there is always the possiblity of going part time, but for now I plan to stay full time.

I am a SAHM now since Aidan was born -- but before him I worked for a well known Long Island Website ( hint hint) .

And before that I was a Merhandise planner for Bed Bath & Beyond. And before that--
I was a Planner for Unionbay Sportswear in NYC... I am happy to be home -- but do miss working very much

Keep lurking for now... I'm hoping to convert you to a TTCer in a few years!

Well if I keep lurking this often it may not take that long.

First of all - welcome to all the lurkers. You sneaky little buggers..I am glad we found a way to smoke you out and show yourselves! Hopefully you are 'lurking to learn' - that will be my new abbreviation. LTL! Lurking to learn about being a mommy!

You guys have interesting jobs! How awesome to have a pediatrician on board....

I am a Benefits Manager for a publishing company in Manhattan. I will take about 4 months off from work once the baby arrives. The company pays for 8 weeks of maternity and then I have 4 weeks vacation and will take the final month with no pay. I do plan on coming back to work and have already selected a babysitter. My sister's best friend's parents who are both retired will take care of our little one. I trust them so much and will have no worries leaving the baby in their care. He or she will have another set of grandparents.

I am LTL (lurking to learn ). We're not planning to TTC for a few years and I now work as a credit analyst for commercial mortgages in a bank and going to school for MBA part time... I plan to TTC right after MBA or so, and then return to work after maternity leave.

Lurking and can't wait to graduate to TTC. Trying to convince DH so we can start TTC sooner than later! I will be 31 in May and I am not getting any younger! I love this board! All your babies are so beautiful!
I am a trader's Assistant for a brokerage firm in NYC on the Portfolio Trading Desk. We generally trade 'baskets' of stocks that are 15 stocks or more and over $1million.

I just moved into the basement apartment of my mother's house because my stepfather was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. I will have a free and wonderful babysitter (my mom) if we have a baby while living here. My DH wants to wait until we have a house.

Wondering what you all think about living with your parents while having a baby?

I am a Lead/Head Chemist for the largest environmental company. Although, since being pregnant, I have actually been doing a lot of paper work and data processing due to the embryotoxins that my Dr recommended that I stay away from while preggo.

Not sure what's in store for the future...

In the meantime I went to Interior Design school and worked for some designers.

Victoria, neat! Was this always an interest of yours? Were you a freelance designer? My sister was an Interior Designer before she had her children. She never went back, but now kind of freelance designs for people in her area - children's rooms!

I am looking to go back to school for my Master's in Ed.

MrsTC , this is something I am considering as well. It's just a huge commitment, and I don't know how long I'll have to wait with Sophia. At least a few months so that I can leave her when I go to class. I always wanted to have a teaching degree under my belt. And have always wanted to teach English or Writing to high school students.

I work in peds ICU at one of the best childrens hospital in the country.

Florenze GOD BLESS! The nurses that took care of Sophie in the NICU were the most wonderful women I have ever met. Patient, intelligent, gentle...you must be a saint!

Come April 16th I will be a SAHM pursuing some dreams and can't wait!

Lisalou what are 'the dreams'? Share with us!

I work in research at a major tv network. It's my dream job but this may all change

NEAT NEAT NEAT NEAT NEAT Irene!! What does it mean exactly? What do you research?

but before him I worked for a well known Long Island Website ( hint hint) .

elle you worked on LIWeddings? Really?

I'm just a lurker here too ... but plan on TTC end of 2004/early 2005.

Cira...you are FAR from a lurker! You are a regular!!
