now that I know how long you all bled for after delivery, and what your best times are to TTC, and what color your munchkin's poop is...
what do you all do for a living? i know a few of you are SAHM's, but what about those going back to work, TTC'ers and even just LURKERS that insist on staying on the fence?
Just curious.
I am in marketing. I am technically VP, but now am working from home doing the books exclusively and dealing with a few of the VIP clients. Not sure yet the schedule on going back. Hoping to start some freelance writing instead....
Ok , next up?

Re: who are the people in your neighborhood?
Hi, I'm Niha and I'm a SAHM! Before having Lyla I was an administrator/contract manager for a project within the HIV/AIDS division of the NY State Health Dept. I have my Master's in Public Health. I have no idea what I will do when I go back to work. I hope to have at least one more child, and would like to be a SAHM until the second one is in school. I think about working vs. being home with Lyla everyday!

Re: who are the people in your neighborhood?
I am a software consultant for an Accounting / ERP Software Company. I used to travel every week. Now I just work from home - unless I have a local client (here in TX) - or unless I have a client on LI. Then I travel with the baby and my Mom watches her while I work. Other than traveling to NY, my traveling for work days are over.

Re: who are the people in your neighborhood?
Yet another teacher! I have taught Math (MS & elementary), 1st, 2nd, & 3rd grades. Now I'm a reading specialist & work with K, 1st & 2nd grade students who are at risk for reading difficulties. I love my job & it works perfectly for me now that I'm a new mom.
I'm currently finishing up my 18 week maternity leave ... I'll start back on March 10th. I'm totally having an anxiety attack about leaving Maria, but I know we'll get through it. She'll be in the home of a recommended sitter not too far from school, so I know she'll get good care, but its not me, you know?
Great post, Jenny!

Re: who are the people in your neighborhood?
I am a SAHM now, but prior to Paul's birth I was Manager of Corporate Communications for a tech software firm in Silicon Valley.
I just started a P/T job at a local retail store to get me out of the house and make a little extra $$ for mani/pedi's and groceries. I'm also starting a temp freelance PR project soon, and am considering pursuing other freelance work when that's complete.
I am surprised (yet excited) to see how many of us Moms are in PR - we should start our own virtual team of PR consultants or some type of Mom-friendly PR company!

Re: who are the people in your neighborhood?
I am a nanny for two wonderful girls (ages 2 and 5). It's perfect because I get to bring my little Maiah and she gets along with them sooooo well!! I think that her being around older kids has really helped her development (she's 15 months.) She even took her first steps at their house!

Re: who are the people in your neighborhood?
I work in research at a major tv network. It's my dream job but this may all change. I am already thinking about how my long daily commute will affect my time with the baby. . Some people are encouraging me to look closer to home. So we will see.

Re: who are the people in your neighborhood?
Hi all - I'm coming out of my lurker status, I love this board because it really helps me to get my thoughts together about children, plus all the beautiful baby pics is a bonus! . FH is ready now while I'm still considering waiting a bit, but not too long since I'm in my early 30s. We're getting married in 2 months and then I plan to go off the pill. I've been taking my vitamins and trying to prepare mentally and physically. As to your original question I'm the assistant to the CFO, I have no idea about what we'll do if/when I have a child. I would love to be a SAHM though if possible.

Re: who are the people in your neighborhood?
I am a lurker on this board although I am already a mom. But my daughter is almost 22 years old so I don't feel as if I fit in on this board. I just got married but we will not be TTC at all. I work for a large medical group in the billing department.

Re: who are the people in your neighborhood?
I am a lawyer, currently living and working in Stamford, Connecticut (from Forest Hills originally). I had a three and a half month maternity leave, and now I'm back to work full time, while Rebecca is in daycare, owned by my company.
