now that I know how long you all bled for after delivery, and what your best times are to TTC, and what color your munchkin's poop is...
what do you all do for a living? i know a few of you are SAHM's, but what about those going back to work, TTC'ers and even just LURKERS that insist on staying on the fence?
Just curious.
I am in marketing. I am technically VP, but now am working from home doing the books exclusively and dealing with a few of the VIP clients. Not sure yet the schedule on going back. Hoping to start some freelance writing instead....
Ok , next up?

Re: who are the people in your neighborhood?
I am a kindergarten teacher, presently on maternity leave. I am looking (although not terribly actively) for a job that I can do part time where I can work with children in some capacity and will allow me to stay home full time.

I am a director of public relations for a high tech software company. I would rather be a yoga doing, lunching rich women though

Re: who are the people in your neighborhood?
I'm a registered nurse (hence my screenname ) at a hospital in Port Jefferson. I work on a medical-surgical unit from 8pm-8am. I get 6 weeks paid maternity leave but I am hoping to try and save my vacation/sick days so I can extend my leave a little longer

Re: who are the people in your neighborhood?
I work part time in IT testing an online application. I went back to work for this company after a year and a half separation from them. In the meantime I went to Interior Design school and worked for some designers.

Re: who are the people in your neighborhood?
Currently SAHM (getting my Masters at night in Elem Ed) and hoping to be teaching within 2yrs or so...
My past jobs were Project Manager in IT for a financial firm, Assistant Buyer in Lingerie & Domestics for Dept Strs ohh the free bras and panties were GREAT. and then odd jobs when I moved to LI and nothing steady since the 'baby phase' has started
We like our little part time 'gym's daycare' thing. I can bring the little ones and they get a little playgroup out of it... and mommy gets manicure and pedicure money out of it oh and not to mention the gym membership, which I MUST get more use out of

Re: who are the people in your neighborhood?
I am currently a Project Manager/Engineer for an environmental consulting firm. I will become a SAHM after I have the baby. I will also be leaving my options open with my company to do some part time work from home on a project-by-project basis if they need me to.

Re: who are the people in your neighborhood?
I was (until Ryan came along) Vice President of Marketing and Public Relations for a mortgage investment firm in the city. Now I am a SAHM working part time as a consultant for that same firm - I work one day a week in the city and the rest of the week a minimum of 8 hours from home.
However, once I win the Mega Millions this evening I will be spending way more time visiting spas and golfing than I will writing press releases (as I spent this afternoon)...

Re: who are the people in your neighborhood?
I'm pretty much just a lurker on this board now but hope that I'll be pregnant in the relatively near future so I can be more active!
I'm currently Director of Partnership Services for a non-profit here on LI. Basically I manage marketing programs and oversee our PR agency.
ETA: I hope to be a SAHM when the times comes, but we'll see what's realistic.

Re: who are the people in your neighborhood?
this is cool
I am in Human Resources for an ad agency in Manhattan. I am looking to go back to school for my Master's in Ed. My ultimate dream come true though, is to be a SAHM at least until my kids are old enough for school.

Re: who are the people in your neighborhood?
I am a travel agent...until March 27th. Then they are closing my office due to a merger with another company Perfect timing with the baby coming and the new house huh???
So I will stay home and rest (like my doctor wants me too anyway) until after the baby comes and we will take it from there!

Re: who are the people in your neighborhood?
I'm a registered nurse in the city. I work in peds ICU at one of the best childrens hospital in the country. I don't know what I'm going to do yet after my little guy is here. I love my job and my patients, but I think I might feel a little guilty taking care of other children, when I could be home taking care of my own child. We'll see what happens, when the time comes.

I have to say its SO GREAT to see WOMEN in so many high places in their careers and in the work world in general. It makes me proud of 'us' making it to all lengths in the workplaces, and achieving all that we set out to achieve!...and more...
GIRL POWER ! Keep up the great work ladies!

Re: who are the people in your neighborhood?
For 10 yrs I was the CS Manager/Billing Manager for a very large corporate limousine company (we had over 800 cars!) I wanted a change in careers then. Now, for the past 3 yrs I am an Accts Receivables/Collections Manager.
