who blocked rooms at best western east end in riverhead??????

I booked with the Best Western...would you mind telling me what room rate they gave you? They quoted me higher than the regular price (which I just found out!) Just curious if this the norm. They won't call me back.

Also...did you use their shutlles??? were they reliable?

I didn't use them - but I did get a quote.. should be less than Holiday Inn Express -which would be $145.

anything close to that price or higher your getting ripped off!
Unles.ssssssssss they raised the prices since last year.

Did you try the Holiday Inn express or did you sign a contract already? Maybe you can get out of it.
Unless the Hoilday Inn has only doubles left than it is $189 or something close to that.

However they have a full breakfast for the guests the next day and 1 free shuttle that fits 15 guests to and from your venue.

We blocked rooms at the Holiday Inn Express for $129 for a regular room and $149 for a suite. If Best Western quoted you that rate, I don't think it will be different at the HIE because I believe they are run by the same owners. My friend booked a room at the Best Western for my wedding, and when she mentioned that we had rooms blocked at the HIE for that price they honored it saying that they are run by the same people. Have you tried the Hilton Garden Inn? It recently opened across the street from the HIE.

I have never herd of the two companies being offilated I have delt with both. This is news to me

I didn't realize November was still considered high season, so I thought the prices might be comparable.

I don't think the companies are affiliated, but from what I understood, I think the 2 sites are under the same management maybe? Not sure. I was surprised to hear this too. This info was second hand from a guest, so possibly not accurate.

That's where I looked and found out how much cheaper my guests can get rooms! They are charging me $189 yet their internet rate is $132!

call and complain - if you have a wedding planner or DOC you should have them call on your behalf. Sometimes that helps. GL

I can't remember the rates (we got married at Eastwind last Nov and a bunch of guests stayed at Best Western and holiday Inn) so I will try and find what they paid, but both the shuttles were relaiable and got everyone there on time!

I do have a serious problem with this. My guests are finding out about the price difference on their own and if we don't fill our block we don't get the shuttles which we are counting on.

They probably tacked on extra $$$ because of the shuttle.

serious I would be soo pist

on a side note about HIE I managed to get a double for a guest for a single price when I raised He ll! What happened was they sold out of all the singles and so they were offering the double for the double price

Once I learned about this I dealt w/it ASAP and told the management that a guest should not be paying double rates when he is a single. Guess what.. he got the credit back to his account

It pays to be on top of these things. If the BW does not accommodate you I would seriously tell my guests to start looking HIE. Threaten that to management they might work with you.
