Our ceremony starts at 7:00, but our families are never on time. So, I'm thinking of putting the ceremony time on the invitation as 6:45.
My hall provides champagne for guests as they arrive, beginning at 6:30. But I don't want to put 6:30 on the invitation because I don't want people arriving at 6:15 and having to wait for forty-five minutes. Is anyone else printing an earlier time on their invitation? How much earlier?

I am putting 3.15 instead of 3.30. I am leaving the reception time for 6.30 though because I noticved that alot of my family showed up early for my sisters reception, so I am sure they will do the same for mine.

I know people may normally show up late... but this is a wedding, and the amount of $$ they should be giving as gifts, i doubt they would show up late... check with your hall, sometimes they dont have the room ready until the time they tell you... ie guests may not have a place to go

Ceremony starts at 11:30 ...that's what i put on my invite. If people are late and that is how they are...they will be late. I think eastwind allows up to 30 mins to arrive early anything earlier then that you have to pay extra $$. I'm spending enough as it is

I never thought of it. Oh well. If they're late, too bad for them!

I think that it is pretty standard to put your invite time as 1/2 hour earlier than than the actual start time.
