Our ceremony starts at 7:00, but our families are never on time. So, I'm thinking of putting the ceremony time on the invitation as 6:45.
My hall provides champagne for guests as they arrive, beginning at 6:30. But I don't want to put 6:30 on the invitation because I don't want people arriving at 6:15 and having to wait for forty-five minutes. Is anyone else printing an earlier time on their invitation? How much earlier?

My ceremony starts at 4, I think I will be putting 3:45... I think most people do that to make sure everyone's there on time...

my hall doe is the same thing. my ceremony is at 12noon and invite is 11:30.

I'm putting that it starts at 7:30 when it really does at 8 - I'd rather have them there early...

nope, not here.. the ones that are always late, are in the bridal party lol so it doesn't matter..

I'm fibbing. My invitation says 7pm but the ceremony begins at 7:30.

we put the real time on our invites.
we didnt want to have the considerate people that are on time or early have to wait around for an extra half hour or so to accomodate the people that cannot be on time.

I guess I'm the only one doing the OPPOSITE - putting the real time of 3pm on my invitations when the ceremony is supposed to start but I'm not planning on showing up until 3:15 or 3:20!!

my ceremony starts at 6:30, the hospitality starts at 6:00. It says 6:00 on the invite. Flowerfield suggested I do this.

I was thinking about doing this also, I changed my ceremony to 3:30pm and I will be putting 3pm on the invites. Our families are always late for everything!! I had to inform my photo and Video vendors of the time change too. Our friend did the same thing and we had no clue...we were running late and in reality we really weren't and we didin't mind the wait.

we're not fibbing - i just don't like it. my cousin put a half hour before and people were annoyed - part of it might have been b/c it was a friday night wedding.
if people don't know enough to be on time, then let them miss it!!!!

Karen32- I agree with you. My ceremony starts at 3- putting 3, and starting at 3. If anyone's late, too bad for them
