It was no fun trying to get ready by candlelight when it was dark outside this morning AND taking an ice cold shower yesterday. The power has been out since Saturday.

according to the newspapers...there is still a lot of people in the tri-state area w/o power...

my lost it on Saturday, but it was back the same day. Our best man though doesn't- and won't be having it back until at least tomorrow! The winds were just CRAZY!!!

where do you live that there is no power? i live in queens and it was a nasty storm with heavy rain and winds and flooding in some areas but no one lost power. hope it comes back soon!

where do you live? in my area in suffolk, we lost it saturday night around 10pm and got it back aroudn 7am sunday morning.
some people by me still dont have power though! ti is crazy!

Got it back early this morning - like while i was sleeping but i think the people next door and down the block still dont.
my house is on a corner so we are on a different grid...
lots of people still dont - i heard LIPA is planning ot have everyone back and running by tuesday (i know, total BS).

I'm so glad it's n\t just me. My parents lost [power for a few hours and couldn't believe we're not back on. Because we have the 2 big dogs, we couldn't just stay w anyone else so we're living in the cold and dark. ***** completely. :(

We never lost power in Queens, but we did lose power when we were up in Somers. Conveniently though, we were working on changing light fixtures, so it didn't matter. Glad we flipped the breaker though, since it came back on mid-installation.

yeah actually I flipped mine off just in case of a huge power surge. So basically, even if we're back up today, I wont have power, heat etc until I get home and flip the mains back on.

I live in East Patchogue and we haven't had power heast or ne thing since Sat night, and LIPA said we r lucky if we have power by Thursday, and probably not until next week!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And we r the only street in the neighborhood who had this issue and they tried to close off both ends of the road, so the @$$hole who lives dwn the road (and calls the town on everyone b/c he has nothing better to do) we keep driving on the edge of his lawn (and he is outside screaming at me)b/c LIPA left the broken telephone pole and transmitter in the middle of the road with police caution tape and we have to get out some how!!! LOL Payback butt cheese!!!!!!! NEXT TIME U WANT TO DUMP UR CRAP IN THE WOODS AND THEN CALL THE TOWN AND TELL THEM IT WAS US, I WILL TAKE OUT UR FENCE ON 'ACCIDENT'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That stinks! We've never lost power for more than a minute in the 2 years we've lived here. I'm afraid this summer tho, it's supposed to be a bad hurricane season and LI is way overdue for one!

I do have power, but all my neighbors do not, and my FH's parents in Ct. don't wither. I feel so bad for those who don't have any!

Aww I feel for you without power. I never lost mine. My grandma is staying with us bc she has no power. They said maybe by Friday for her....but most likely next week! God forbid they should work through the weekend....

My FILs do not have power... they probably wont til hte end of the week... as a matter of fact no one has removed the tree that is blocking their street either. The tree snapped the electric pole and ripped the wires from their house. Its going to be a looong week
