who ever made a card box please help me with this one problem please?

I have the material and the foam that goes on the top but how do you put it together???????

Ok, I have a really stupid question and you'd think i would know this being that I'm on here everyday of my life...what is the card box for? To hold the money envelopes (assuming you get them)? It seems like sooooooo much work!

I cut a slit on the top with a razor and then cut the material and pulled it though. It is neatly bunched on the ends and I used hot glue to attach it to the foam.
How is it going???
