Who got their invitations within a week?

Original post by Espo22

Ok basically i am flipping right now, and i might have to go to plan B. I would need invites ASAP, and i know ive seen some of yu get them in about a week. I would NEED them in a week no more bc i just received an email from the invitation lady which i ordered invites from on february 24th, she suggested having the order expedited and i agreed to it. I contacted MANY people before i hired her to see who can get it to me in the time and she is one that said she can do it with no problem, i told her i want them by March 17th BUT if its a few days after then that is not aproblem. She wrote back and i honestly dont want to say what she told me the delivery date will be, i dont understand how somebody who does invites for a living can tell me the date she told when she knows my RSVP date i wrote a long email telling her that how can she tell me i would have to wait that much longer if the ONLY reason i hired her was bc the other company told me 4 weeks in february and i said no bc i didnt want to wait this long and i told her all of this before i hired her, she said NO PROBLEM. ANd now shes telling me well they take time, ok first of all 2 months i dont think so.

I already gave a deposit so i am so pissed about that, luckily it was through paypal on ebay so that can easily be fought. She guaranteed me something and is not following through and i still have all the emails. I am so mad im shaking right now. I dont even know what to do now, she really F*CKED me over. I should've just gone with the london company who told me 4 weeks, i wouldve had them by the beginning of the upcoming week

so any recommendations, i can really use it now. I am running out right now bc we have to go to get my wedding band so i wont answer back right away, i will check this thread when i get home.

Thank you

sorry to hear about your troubles ... Im having Major ISSUES with my invitation place as well :(

i hope it all works out for ya

awwwww i am sorry, what did they do to you?

What didnt they do HAHA ...

they also lied to me about the production time , they swore it would be two weeks in the begining now its more like 3-4 weeks , so my invites will for sure be sent out late .... then I paid extra to have the envelopes dropped shipped to the calligrapher and they only sent her the outer envelopes not the inners ...

at the end of the day , people know to save the date .. so im not completely buggin yet !

well if yours are sent out in the beginning of april and she is almost done and you will have it soon, you are in great shape dont worry. I know its annoying and all but its still more than 8 weeks before your wedding. If she gets them to you within the next 2 weeks you are more than fine sorry you had to deal with aggrevation though.

Re: Who got their invitations within a week?

FH & I actually ordered invites through e-bay first (they were the same exact kind we had seen on another site, but cheaper) and was told we'd get them in no more than 10 days, and have a proof in 2-3 days. And then almost 2 weeks went by, no proof, and they never responded to our calls or emails. Anyway, we ended up ordering invites from www.rexcraft.com We expedited the shipping...ordered on 3/1 and got them on 3/12....so took about 11 days (and we ordered 400 invites, rsvp cards, information card, reception card, outer and inner envelopes) And, when I called after a week to get an estimated shipping date, I was able to get through to a person on their customer service line who gave me a ups tracking code. Definitely check them out. Good luck!

YUP thats what i am going to do. Infact thats what i was doing now. She emailed me on tuesday telling me that she will mail the shipping slips(which go on top of the box) but i told her not to mail them to me but to mail it directly to the calligrapher to cut on time and to send it overnight with fed ex. Well she emails me today telling me she JUST mailed them to the calligrapher today the calligrapher was supposed to get them this weekend because i wanted them done by this weekend, expecting to get my invites this coming week lol.

My last email to her was saying how she JUST stated in her last email that I approved the proof on march 8th and then said that production after that takes 4-5 weeks and 2-3 weeks for expedited orders, so wouldnt that mean that since I had the ordered expedited i should've received my invites march 22nd which is today or by march 29 bc that is 2-3 weeks after March 8th and not that she will mail them out april 11th and do 3 day shipping lol so i wouldnt get my invites until about april 15th lol and thats over 4 weeks after march 8th. Well she hasn't emailed me back since then and its been HOURS, and her last email she said she will check back shortly to see what my response is.

I think she realized she F*CKED up, i basically think she forgets things and is all over the place and forgot that my order is supposed to be expedited and after approval of the proof just took her time doing them bc she thinks she has 4-5 weeks to send it to me. Plus she is just slow. AFter i sent her my verse and ALL the info including colors for each thing, every little detail, it took her 6 days for my email proof. It wasnt even an assembled invite, it was just the wording that was done on word or whatever, that should not take 6 days. I wrote the whole verse for her so honestly could've been done the same day or maybe the next day. She had to basically type it in word and do the monogram on top which i picked the exact design for it from the samples she sent me.

ok im rambling sorry, it just aggrevates me.

I got mine in LESS than a week when I finalized my proofs.

Denise! Go to print icon. They will have amazing designs already in house. They have everything that looks like Hello Lucky etc. They do letter press, thermography and off set. They are RIGHT next door to Paper Presentation.
After that, do yourself a favor and grab yourself chocolate chip cookie at City Bakery which is right next door.
Big hugs...

I hate to say that once I approved our wording I had the invites in less than a week.

However, mine are very plain and there is nothing to them really.

I swear I am stressed for you!

thank you so much. Honestly my invites are not that hard. I was just showing FH how they were done by taking apart the sample to show him. I told him i know exactly how she made them, the only thing that takes time is cutting the paper since its layered. After that she used permanent double sided tape to attach it on top of one another. I mean im sure its annoying and takes a little bit of time to cut all the cardstock and attach them but shouldn't take 2 months especially since she has her own studio and this is her main job plus she has 3 people who work for her.
