Who got their invitations within a week?

Original post by Espo22

Ok basically i am flipping right now, and i might have to go to plan B. I would need invites ASAP, and i know ive seen some of yu get them in about a week. I would NEED them in a week no more bc i just received an email from the invitation lady which i ordered invites from on february 24th, she suggested having the order expedited and i agreed to it. I contacted MANY people before i hired her to see who can get it to me in the time and she is one that said she can do it with no problem, i told her i want them by March 17th BUT if its a few days after then that is not aproblem. She wrote back and i honestly dont want to say what she told me the delivery date will be, i dont understand how somebody who does invites for a living can tell me the date she told when she knows my RSVP date i wrote a long email telling her that how can she tell me i would have to wait that much longer if the ONLY reason i hired her was bc the other company told me 4 weeks in february and i said no bc i didnt want to wait this long and i told her all of this before i hired her, she said NO PROBLEM. ANd now shes telling me well they take time, ok first of all 2 months i dont think so.

I already gave a deposit so i am so pissed about that, luckily it was through paypal on ebay so that can easily be fought. She guaranteed me something and is not following through and i still have all the emails. I am so mad im shaking right now. I dont even know what to do now, she really F*CKED me over. I should've just gone with the london company who told me 4 weeks, i wouldve had them by the beginning of the upcoming week

so any recommendations, i can really use it now. I am running out right now bc we have to go to get my wedding band so i wont answer back right away, i will check this thread when i get home.

Thank you

Oh my I would be so livid. I am so sorry this is happening t right now I am sure that you don't need this added stress right now...I have heard good things about not from a box or fine stationary.com but you may be better off physically going somewhere so you can have them in your hands quicker rather than havin gthem sent to you. Good Luck

I ordered my invitations from Sweet Nut Hut. They are located in Babylon. I know that is a far drive for you but it only took 1 week for them to come and the lady there is really sweet.

Denise

Go to Print Icon in the city ASAP. They are a direct printer. They can print up FAST. They have amazing designs etc. go there today if you can. right next to Paper Presentation....

http://www.printicon.com/

thats actually what i was thinking of doing. I remember when i went to paper presentation recently they have the pocket folds and all the cardstock and that they have printing and design services. So all i need is for someone to print up the invites bc my printer doesn't work. Then buy the pocketfold cardstock maybe and just put everything together myself. This i can do myself even in a day if i have to, ill sit hours and have others help me ya know. But yeah definitely seems like an option.

THANK YOU SOOOO SOOOO much ladies, i am looking into all the options all you ladies recommended. I have no choice but to look at every option haha.

However, one option now is to do it myself. I just need a place to print the things up for me because my printer is acting crazy and prints only when it wants to lol so i cant take chances with that. I remember seeing pocket fold cardstock at paper presentation so ill just glue well actually use permanent double sided tape to attach the printed invite to the pocket fold, have them also print up the rsvp cards, reception cards also. Directions ill get from JT itself so just put those in there. If a printing place can print them up for me quickly which im sure they can then all that will be left is to put them together. I can honestly do them in a day if i have to, ill stay up late, and do them for HOURS straight. I know my mom will help and so will others and im sure in a day or lets say 2 we can finish it.

To calm me down fh started thinking of solutions and he told me that FMIL uses a printing company ALL the time for work and knows the lady for many years, and we can go to her to print the stuff up for us so FMIL is calling in to ask for this favor to print it up ASAP. I will go to paper presentation and buy all the supplies and by monday ill start assembling. I think this might be the best option right now.

THank you though to everybody.

OH and the invitation lady emailed me back after my long email to her and she is trying to tell me well yes you ordered feb 24th you didnt approve until march 7th, uhmmmm thats bc i waited for you to send me the proof which why does it take that long for a proof and that even after the proof i waited 5 days for an invoice although she said she would send it right away. I also told her that she shouldnt have taken my business if she couldnt do it. Its not like i hired her and THEN turned around and said OH BTW i need them in 3-4 weeks. I first emailed and said that i dont have ALOT of time and i would need invites around march 17th but if its a FEW days later then its not a problem but no later than that and if she is able to guarantee that and she said yes. If she would've told me the middle of april and yes the middle of april then i would've never hired her.

AND i just reread her email bc I JUST realized something but OMG she doesnt even make sense. THis is what she says lol, that after proof approval production is 4-5 weeks and for expedited orders its 2-3 weeks, but she just said in the email that on march 8th i approved the proof so if its 2-3 weeks then that would mean that they wouldve been done either on march 22nd(which would've been fine with me bc that'd be today) OR march 29th the latest, she just screwed herself over in her own email. The date she gave me is 5-6 weeks after i approved the proof.

ANd she said 'i will TRY to finish them before april 11th' lol uhmmmmm NO i wont wait that long and i told her that, either she can send it this week or to forget it.

Denise!! Im so sorry this is happening! I cant believe she thinks getting the invites to you by April 11th is acceptable. For Christ sake, once you get them you have to still put them together and address them. Does she not know how it works. Get your money back ASAP! Just remember, it will all work out! Stay positive!! If not you can always invite them through email! (JK!!!) Just trying to make you laugh!

thank you lea. YEah and the funny part is she said she will mail them out april 11th with 2-3 day delivery not even overnight hahahaha and my guests would receive them april 19th. In the email i said, that as somebody who for a living does invitations then she should know better than anybody that I can't give my guests 10 days to rsvp, what is she thinking. I said would you do this for your own wedding?

One good thing about all of this is that THANK GOD joe paid her the deposit through paypal. The reason why is bc you can fight things through paypal and if somebody guarantees you something and they dont do it then you can get your money back. ANd they'll take it straight from her account. If we would've sent a check or paid over the phone we would never see that money back. Even now im still afraid whether or not we'll get it but bc of paypal i do have some hope.

thank you, hey email would be great for me since im always on the comp. Yeah somehow we'll make this work and come up with something.

She sounds like a complete idiot. Definitely dispute it through paypal. Save all the emails to send to them also. The more proof you have the better. If not you could always take her to Judge Judy. She'll knock some sense into her. Im glad youre keeping your head up though! Think of it this way, youll have a crazy story to tell your kids of how you almost didnt have invites for the wedding!!

sounds like you will be able to work things out --- good thing it was through paypal! also, good thing your rsvp date isnt april 17! (which is what i thought it would be)

you can also tweak your rsvp date and make it slightly later if you need to now

it will all get done! maybe you can send your envelopes to the calligrapher before you start assembling?

Yeah i am definitely contacting paypal, and thank god i have every single email sent to her even my original email. I also have emails that I sent to her that she didnt respond to for DAYS and can show this. HAHAHAHA yeah i guess this will be a funny story after its done with, probably once i mail them out it'll be funny. Now its just stressful but thank you for helping me look on the bright side, i really do appreciate it

yeah i said to just do may 1st bc this way i can give guests more time, maybe i can do just a few more days later but i have to go may 7th with my final headcount, but yeah i'll think about it.

I really love calligraphy but with my time frame i might not even be able to use her but its not that big of an issue i guess, i mean theres worse things to happen so just have to deal with it

can you buy envelopes today or tomorrow and drop them off at the calligrapher? im assuming a 2-3 day turnaround and by the time you make and assemble your invites (you have a lot of guests) that might work out? it's worth a shot.

another way to incorporate the calligraphy is having her do your place cards, dont remember what you are doing for those...

i would have to mail them to her, i wish i can drop it off to her but she lives a couple of hours away. But yeah i am going to email her bc she has been great maybe there is something i can do. Or maybe i should drive to her upstate fh and i can take a road trip, wonder how that idea would go lol.

I dont know what im doing either for place cards but yes definitely a possibility

thank you
