Who has a knack for picking colors for living rooms?

I bought a slip cover for the sofa and I'm bidding on the same color for the loveseat.

I am including a picture. The color is 'spice' - not red but not orange - kind of a mix - it's very 'fall-ish'.

Right now my walls are bare, a yucky, off white color. We want to move in the spring so may not bother with painting them.

Curtains are sheer white with blue/white floral 'denim look' valances.

I want to change the curtains. What do you suggest? I would like a warm color. I like valances/sheer curtain look. Please help.

What about a camel color? Would match the spice color and the denim .

We're not painting the walls. No point if we move in a few months.

Was wondering about what color curtains and valances.

TIA.

Have you checked out Country Curtains for some ideas?

What kind of feel/style are you going for? Country? Traditional? Contemporary?

not sure about the curtains, but you could buy some decorative pillows to dress up the couches and add some color.

(tan, sage, mustard, burgandy)

Re: Who has a knack for picking colors for living rooms?

Girls, thanks!!!

Skew I am going to find some pillow covers for my sofa pillows..I have 2 in navy right now for my green checked pillows. And look for some mustard ones.

I think mustard goes well with the sofa cover, but I don't know if I want that on the windows (as in the color of the curtains) because I think it may cast a yellowish tint in the room from the light outside.

Thought this place sounded familiar. There is one in Larchmont, that I've seen before. Will go this weekend. I have seen some I like!

Thanks!
