I'm seriously considering this breed. Please tell me all you can about your Maltese -- and I want pics!!!
What health issues should I know about, look out for? Where did you get yours? Can you recommend a breeder? What can I expect to pay?
I have an idea on all of these things, and I've done some research but I'd love to hear more from Maltese moms and dads!

Re: Who has a maltese?
OMG, one of our tenants in my office has one and he brings her to work and she is the SWEETEST thing. Never barks, bites, nothing. She is such a lover. She darts down the hall and goes to anyone around and just plops down, rolls over and waits for a belly rub. I LOVE HER. And he puts ribbons in her hair in a pony tail. Soooooooooooooo cute.
This is the site I always use for info on different breeds, here is the Maltese page. Maltese

Re: Who has a maltese?
I have a maltese! He does not bark at all. We live in an apt and he's perfect. FM me if you need more info. We got ours from the Puppy Boutique in Bay Ridge. It is not a puppy mill! Our vet is the doggie health inspector for the city and says they are great. People come from all over to go there for tcup and toy dogs. According to the vet, tcup does exist. We paid a lil under a grand. He is in perfect health and gives a lot of unconditional love.
hold on one second there missy, lol. my aunt had a maltese for 10 yrs and she still says, 'small dogs, small brains.' yea....bk knows where to sleep and find his food. as for where to pp...that is going to take sometime. lol

Re: Who has a maltese?
Our Scooby is a Malt and I love him more than I even expected. I was always afraid of animals and skeeved them in the house. Four weeks ago my son called from work and told me I have to take this young puppy. He's a purebred and a friend paid $1200 for him but her *boyfriend* wouldn't let her keep him. She got rid of the dog and kept the boyfriend! (That's another story.)
The puppy is very playful, smart, and very trainable. He wants to please us and with a little attention is already paper trained and follows commands. I highly recommend a Malt.
There is a Maltese forum you can go on to read what other owners have to say. Although new at raising a dog, I'm learning a lot quickly.
I have the papers on him with the name of the pet store it was prchased from as well as the breeder's name. You can FM me and you can call the breeder directly if you are interested. I got her phone number and called with some questions I had.
