Who has Con ED

i know some girls on the island have something else. But for those who use con ed, cant say use bc in the 5 boroughs you have no choice as to who to use lol. But have you noticed the increase in the bill i was even shocked, my bill was in the mid 300's for the month of july not too far from $400 i spoke to someone else and they said their bill for july was also in the $300's and told me that con ed prices went up 20%. This is just ridiculous.

Now of course in the summer you always expect your bill to be higher, but it used to be in the $200's, now its just ridiculous.

yeah a 20% increase is a bit much And i dont remember receiving a letter ahead of time about this. It just says it on the bill that i received. Shouldn't they inform customers of such a huge increase, unless I just didnt see the letter somehow

my bill skyrocketed! i don't remember seeing a letter, but when i opened the bill today i was floored.

Do you keep the AC on all day and night? Or is someone home all day that may leave that or other things on?

I totally understand!!!! We have Con Ed and our last bill was $400!!! I almost fainted when I opened the bill!!!

no i dont, during the day its off...but the thing is that con ed increased prices by 20%. Unfortunately it was a real hot summer so had no choice but to have the AC on alot. Summers its always high and i know this from previous years, but in the 200's range not close to $400 that is a bit too much. Even if you left your ac on all day before the increase it wouldn't be $400.

I hate the ac on too much so during the day i keep it off and open all the windows. I dont leave all the lights on, infact i always feel if youre not in a room then dont keep the light on so during the day only one room has a light on. Even more recently at night when it gets a bit cooler i turn the ac off and open the windows. And at night ive been keeping it on low instead of high when i do have it on. And not like i keep a ton of AC's on at once. From the previous bill its not like we've used it anymore its been the same usage. When dh isnt home i have the AC off even at night...many times he has softball after work about 3-4 days a week and gets home at 11pm and ill have the AC most of the day and just turn it on when he gets home

In the beginning of July they mention the increase on Channel 7 news 20% is crazy I am scared to open my bill now.

so ridic....Im a queens girl too my coop includes all that,,,but of course their raising the maintance bc of all the increases its so nuts!!!!!!!!grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr lol

my maintenance doesnt include electricity, thats good that yours does but yeah of course theyre going to increase. Hopefully not that much

Last year this time my LIPA bill was $80 tops. I got it today and was floored to see $149.

We're not doing anything different and we have energy saving bulbs in every fixture
I thought it was only supposed to go up 5%????

you know whats funny, i have fluorescent light bulbs that are supposed to save money and yeah nothing.
