FH wants to get me photoshop (!!!!) for the holidays and while I know what you can do with it, I've never really had any experience using it.
Are there different versions? Which one should he get? Any suggestions?

i have and LOVE - photoshop digital elements 5. I think they're up to 6 by now - but i LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!!!!!
If you take digital pics and edit them - it's a WONDERFUL tool!

i have it & i can only edit pics....it is really hard to figure out how 2 design things in it if u are a beginner....i've had it for at least 2yrs & still can do no designing.

i use it professionaly daily. I think there are programs such as elements which is suited for a person who needs it for personal use. To spend the money on cs3 unless you really going to invest in classes/books/time etc to learn the program its best to get just a simple photo editing software.

I also use it every day. Photoshop CS3. If you are still in school or know someone who is you can get a pretty decent price on the academic version, which is no different than the normal version. It is pretty expensive, but the upgrades are a lot less, so you dont have to re-buy it every time a new one comes out. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask!

If you want to be illegal, you can try and download a free complete verision via torrents. My FH has gotten me dozens of programs that way, lol.
